Have you guys noticed that during the campaign NOBLE team was kind of being hunted down? Like when Kat got sniped. The covenant started burning the city to draw out NOBLE team. And I found it very odd that there was a big hole on top of that building noble team passed through but not much else of the building had taken that much damage and a phantom which seemed to just be waiting for them. And the zealots who landed on the mass driver platform to kill Emile. They could've just blasted the Mass driver but you know elites. When they want to kill someone they'll kill them with their swords.
One way to back this up on who exactly was hunting them down was that field marshall who escaped and blew right past emile in Winter Contingency. All the other zealots stayed and were killed by six and jorge. So after retrieving the data the field marshall must have initiated an op to find and kill the spartans just like in the flood. It might not be true but something that really suggested it was Kat's death and how that phantom was just waiting for them. But for some reason when six went and knelt beside her they didnt try to shoot six so thats kinda dumb.

I bet they mainly wanted to kill Kat because she was their technical support. But i like you idea.

this story needed this. an elite persecutor (or elites) on Noble team. The theory is good, but we will never know.
-
In a way... Although there were thousands of Zealots and Field Marshall's, it's not like it's that one specific team hunting down Noble Team. If it were, they're dead in the Winter Contigency, the one who got away was killed in Tip of the Spear. You then encounter several throughout the rest of the Campaign but so? It wasn't one team.
-
The reason that the Elites knew where Noble Team was because Carter used the radio on an open channel. The Elites picked up on the signal and tracked them down.
-
The only thing I agree with is if the elite killed Kat with the needle rifle, then why didn't he kill six or even try to shoot him; that is very odd.

She was a cripple, he was a hyper lethal vector. Yet, I still don't understand..."shoot the female!"...
Posted by: Brian OA Actually I did notice that. However if it were really important, Bungie would've made note of it, maybe added a dramatic zoom-in or something.
Yeah but the main focus of halo reach was to show noble team's story of how they defended reach. Not a bunch of elites trying to figure out how to kill six pain in the ass human super soldiers. But maybe they'll make a book thats like the flood showing a backstroy for what I just said.
