Can a Bungie employee please read this and try to sort this out through the chain of command.
I am a Official Machinima Director and on my Youtube Channel i am getting numerous Copyright claims regarding the Halo Soundtracks
Entity: Kontor New Media, Warner Chappell, IDOL (Independent Distribution On Line), and IDOL (Independent Distribution On Line) Content Type: Sound Recording.
I cannot dispute this as i dont have official licences for the soundtracks for use. I know some directors who claim they had emails from Bungie Employees about this... but don't know
Can someone help me out please

Edited by SageD360: 12/24/2017 2:59:59 AMIt must be a false copyright claim unless your making money out of it because i found this on the game content uses rules page on the Microsoft website
But we'll confirm right here that the music from Halo 3 is available for your use in non-profit ventures thanks to an arrangement with O'Donnell/Salvatori, Inc., composers of this iconic theme.
You can find the game content usage rules here https://www.xbox.com/en-US/developers/rules

Post this on the halo forums. General Discussion.

I got a similar notice too: Your video, Let's Play Halo - Episode 10 - The Maw (Finale) , may include content that is owned or administered by these entities: Entity: IDOL (Independent Distribution On Line) Content Type: Sound Recording

That is what I thought, but apparently not. I just want to verify before I go and dispute this.

We don't need a license to use the Halo soundtrack?

this blocked everywhere except spain.

Machinima? No?

We really need a better video hosting site... I try to make Halo Music Videos as well, and quite a few of them have been removed.

I uploaded like half of the song "rain" to a video. Like 40 seconds beginning, and 30 seconds of it at the end of the video. I haven't really noticed it nor cared, but now I am a little aggravated, it could be a little more popular if it was available in more places than just "Spain". Entity: IDOL (Independent Distribution On Line) Content Type: Sound Recording Entity: Blanco y Negro, Sony ATV Publishing, UMG, and UMG Content Type: Sound Recording As a result, you video is blocked everywhere except: Spain But apparently, these tracks are public, and should not be copyrighted against? The community forum would be far more helpful with this

I would assume Kontor aided in the distribution of the Reach OST, thats why they are listed in the copyright claims. Kontor have no direct affiliation with Microsoft, and as Microsoft own the copyrights to the Halo series, and the Soundtracks to all previous Halo games are available for public use under the game content usage rules, I'm sure you will be fine. I have not had any action taken against a video I made using a few tracks from Halo: Reach, and that was uploaded over 3 months ago.

Couldn't have you just emailed this to a Bungie employee?
