  • He didn't die in CE, there is a reason the flood didn't infect him. Johnson suffered from a rare disease that actually rendered him immune to the Flood and that is how he escaped, at least that is what I found. This disease (can't remember the name) was a possible side effect of becoming a Spartan I, before you say that he couldn't be a Spartan due to his height and lack of armour, those augmentations were introduced in the Spartan II generation. Master Chief was a Spartan II, the disease was not a side effect of the newer generations, so that is why Master Chief does not have it.
