Am I the inly one who, when I finished the campaign in Halo 2, thought it was a huge cop-out on Bungie's part that as the Arbiter you never fought Humans. I thought the Arbiter and his eventual joining forces with the UNSC if players started out hating him. As it is they try to paint him as some tragic figure, who lost his honour and accepted s suicide mission in some heroic attempt to regain it.

I agree with you, it would be fun to fight Marines but...
Posted by: orphan They didn't want you to feel like an ass, killing Marines one mission, and working alongside them the next.

Posted by: EliteXx27
Posted by: Sigma617
Posted by: sidebeef I don't think Bungie really cares if you kill humans. They put an insane human that most of us probably chose to kill in 343 guilty spark in CE. And almost make it humorous to watch some of the ways humans can die from either covenant or friendly fire.
Have any one of you played Marathon before? The player is encourage to "never ever leave a single BoB alive." Bobs are human civilians on board the Marathon.
You sir, must be a Vidmaster. *bows in honor*
What? Leela always got pissed at me when the civies all died.
-
'Cause killing marines would've been relatively easy. It'd be like killing a squad of Jackals, without any shield gauntlets.

I always thought the arbiter never made it in time on the Flood mission.
-
I know that it was a Covenant colony, what I meant was that if they hadn't attacked humanity we would never have built the NOVA in the first place.
-
I remember seeing a video of someone managing to keep the humans alive that get ambushed in Sacred Icon. They are hostile and appear as enemies on the motion tracker and reticle. In Quarantine Zone a Human controlled Pelican fires at you, that's about it. But as many have quoted Truth does say you won't continue Arbiter's campaign against the humans. That's his punishment.
-
I wanted to see that as well.
Posted by: Nomanisat The NOVA wouldn't have killed anyone if A) the Covenant had never stolen it in the first place and B), they never attacked us. It would also help if they kept the damn fingers out of things they don't understand! Two wrongs don't make a right, but they do even the score.
A) That was always a Covie colony B) Arbiter didn't start the war. Everyone is as guilty as anyone else.

They should have allowed us to kill humans, if was kind of dumb how we never faced any human forces while seeking the Index on Delta Halo... Only Flood in human vehicles. I guess Bungie dosent like us killing humans? (Note: The only human that you legit kill is the corrupt police officer in ODST)
-
Because he was told not to. He swore he would "continue his campaign against the humans." but Truth said simply "No... you will not." Arbiters are used more to crush dissention in the ranks than fight an opponent.

All i know is that Halo 2 has the best campaign in the series.
Posted by: I Judge Bread I What trick? There's a squad of about 10 Marines in one of the corridors with Flood, you just walk around the corner and there they are shooting at you.
On Sacred Icon, there's a spot where there is marine-combat flood going on across a gap, and you can grenade jump over to it. However, in standard gameplay, I know of no situation where you fight humans in Halo 2. //============ I agree that that is quite annoying, by the way. Due to Halo 1's style of having elites actually being aggressive warriors, I always had difficulty accepting that they were supposed to be of the same group as Halo 2's hammy pseudoshakespearean box-climbers. I think it would have improved my sense of the Arbiter's identity immensely to introduce him with something that would convince me that he dislikes humanity in more than just overt speech.
Posted by: Dogface1998 WTF? What Halo 2 are you guys playing? I specifically remember hating to play the Arbiter, BECAUSE you had to kill humans. Especially the mission where you had to retrieve the key to fire Delta Halo. I was always faced with the choice of: A) Kill the humans and feel bad that I was killing my own kind. Or B) Try to skirt by them and risk getting blasted, run over, shot, or some other viscous form of death the human AI could come up with.
... You mean the Flood-infected humans?

Your either trolling, or you were fighting human flood.
Posted by: Nomanisat If the Covenant had never attacked humanity would Whitcomb have the blood on his hands? We didn't start this war, but we damn well mean to win it.
We had more intention of just surviving...about 2/3 of the population was in the military by 2552...and the civilians who werent soldiers were most likely helping the war effort somehow

You get to kill a human in ODST. "I'm sorry, I can't let you live" *fires shotgun* *wild west knock back* Such a good way to end Sadie's Story.
