What was Laszlo Sorvad's "latchkey discovery"?
In the mission, The Package, Halsey says the fragment of Cortana contains a latchkey discovery on par with the conical bullet and slipspace travel.
I assume the discovery was Halo, but does anyone know for sure?

They may mention this in Halsey's journal, I think. [/quote] I read the entire journal a couple months ago. If memory serves me, Halsey doesn't mention Halo.

if you've read the official books mc discovered a starmap leading to halo inscribed on a crystal. what halsies fried discovered was probably the cypher to decoding the giant knowlege core cortana was plugged into. so the core had knowlege that when combined with the crystal starmap data led to halo but not before. cortana executed a planned jump that didn't interfere with the cole protocol but was nontheless planned from the start. so no. Laszio's discovery was NOT halo
