With the changes made months ago, how does one go about getting vehicle kills in FireFight Matchmaking?
Specifically, which games or maps produce the most opportunities.
Thanks,
George

ff ltd + beachhead + hijacked wraith = alot of blown up vehicles.
Posted by: GWzybar Just to be clear, I am talking about destroying or killing vehicles - not getting kills while operating a vehicle. Yes, this is in context of one of today's daily challenges; but also applies to getting enough kills to achieve higher commendation levels. Before the recent changes, there were tons of opportunities on Beachead, Corvette, and Glacier - they are all gone now. I do know about the Banshees in Holdout...but that is the only FireFight Arcade game that has any covenant occupied vehicles. George
Yeah I know, that's why i said the fastest way is simply playing limited on beachead/unearthed, and fighting people for them. Time-wise it's faster than banshees on score attack holdout, but you need two power weapons. With these changes you're now forced to quit any game that someone takes those weapons from you. And obviously you can't give a s**t about your pool of lives, just throw yourself after those vehicles, screw finishing the game. [Edited on 04.04.2011 12:31 PM PDT]
Posted by: tsujen
Posted by: Chafe222 Incorrect about the easiest method. If you want to easily kill enemies with a vehicle, go to 2x score attack and use the ghost.
Eh ghost is iffy, enemies can stick you, plasma burst you. If you play w/ it smart though you can get through a whole game. I think it's easier w/ the rocket hog on beachhead 2x score attack. But they all work pretty good. I can get through a holdout 2x score attack game within 8 minutes usually
I'll admit it takes a little getting used to, as well as where you sit on the map. Just sit right about where it spawns and shoot from a distance; you should never get within grenade distance ever. The rocket hog is by all means safer, but the ghost is just quicker. ripped off turret, and rocket hog on beachhead are the easiest ways to get kills WITH a vehicle, but I'm assuming he's wondering which maps have enemy vehicles to kill, and that's a good -blam!- question because I've played a ton of firefight and still haven't gotten iron on that commendation! Soooo stupid.

sniper attack on holdout, take your time killing them all, when you have one enemy left, just wait. you can get like 4 banshees in 1 game if you go to the end

I got the vehicle kills commendation using the turrets ripped off. If you drop it you can't pick it back up so don't drop it.

I've gotten vehicle kill commendations while wielding a broken turret.
Posted by: Tcommando131 After the turret is ripped off it no longer counts as vehicle kills.
You my friend are incorrect because I was walking around on Holdout with one of the turrets and my commendation popped.

Flat Tire: score attack, holdout. Around 4 - 5 Banshee's per round. choose sniper or rocket attack. if 2x score DO NOT use the sniper but pick up the weapon drop spartan laser or rocket launcher. Helpful but not essential: try and leave some enemies alive until the banshee appears, kill it, then kill the rest of them off to start the next wave.
Posted by: tsujen
Posted by: Tcommando131 After the turret is ripped off it no longer counts as vehicle kills.
This is wrong. Once the turret is takes off it still counts as vehicle kills. I know this because for vehicle kills I will go on holdout and take the turrets off, go into the building and wait for the enemies to come in. Easiest way to get vehicle kills.
All right thanks mr. expert

People he's looking for how to kill vehicles for the daily. Unfortunately Bungie has made this very hard for some reason. You must play limited and fight everyone for the power weapons. You could also play score attack on unearthed/beachhead for a guarantied vehicle on the final wave, but as I recommend playing 2x score attack for the speed, you have to be extra careful not to kill the driver of the vehicle (I recommend only using the target locater).
-
Holdout still has that Banshee constantly flying overhead. Other than that not sure which Arcade maps have Covie vehicles.

After the turret is ripped off it no longer counts as vehicle kills.

What would be the best firefight game mode to do it in? Scoreattack or...?
-
turrets. overlook, courtyard, and outpost all have a turret and elites in the last wave of any round might have a turrent in a regular FF game
-
Firefight Limited will produce enemy vehicles. I don't know that the Arcade gametypes allow for the Covvies to drop off vehicles anymore.
-
Beachhead and Unearthed have the warthog, those two and overlook, outpost, glacier, and corvette have either wraiths or ghosts
