The Bungie Waaahmbulance
Going through the Bungie mailbox can be wonderful - we get tons of great feedback, opinion and suggestions from a loyal audience who we love and appreciate. They ask good questions, make valid points and submit thoughtful and reasoned criticism.
But we also get mails from folks who've been banned for cheating, modding, standby-ing boosting, bridging, and other forms of network interference, all bannable under the terms of use of Xbox Live which you can read about [url=http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/legal/]here[/url]. Now, the thing is, everyone who ever cheated, probably knew they were cheating. Some of the tortured language we get explaining that they didn't [i]realize[/i] they were cheating is hilarious.

I loved this update. I will be the first to admit I suck at halo 2. And it really sucks when I am on the verge of have a desent game and I get modded are stand byed some (Blank, Blank Blankety Blank) Cheaters! I wished we could harken back to a simpler time and drag all cheaters from there home walk them through the street while people throw rotten fruit at them and burn them at the STAKE!!!! Just PLEASE appeal my ban. i want to play matchmaking again. i want to be clean for the arrival of Halo 3! c'mon! i didn't know what i was getting into when i got mods from my friend and from [website censored]! you have to believe me!!! (which i believe got resently shut down.) I'm really not the dirty, xbox live cheater that you probably think i am! im just a weeeee little 13 year old. (and very hansom at that might i add. any waay, it really sucks with no matchmaking and no stats or clan listings. I have learned the errors of my ways and wish to repent. please help me!!! P.S. I haven't even turned on my xbox with the mods on it since i sent my first message a few days ago. infact, i unplugged it! This is just priceless!!!

In a side note to the above mentioned morons, if you're going to lie, at least make the story believable, for example, why would someone who had their xbox stolen and the gamertag banned, want it unbanned? For the thiefs? Or maybe there's something that's not being said?...

That is some of the greatest front page news I've ever read. I can't count the number of times I've heard, "Go ahead and leave feedback, they won't catch me!" I've helped send so many standby or mod user's accounts to their dirty little graves. And sarcastic, sadistic news posts about the results are why I love you guys.

Booster's, Bridger's, Modder's??? Man, I am soo lost on this gamer/Halo player terminology. In anycase, this was really entertaining to read, haha. I bet Bungie has the best game security on Xbox Live. I mean I don't hear about anyother game that constanly gets updates to fight cheating. They should be all set for the release of Halo3 and it's multiplayer section. I've never cheated in Halo 2 matches. Cheating in any game (multiplayer) is lame and makes for no real fun challenges. Halo 3 got dedicated servers and no ranking system! Which means no standbys and bridging and well yes you can still mod but it will be hard and also no one will care to make mods since theres no rank anymore HAHA to bad you cant cheat any more LOL!!!

Well Bungie does have certain skills with dealing with their consumers. Why waste your time playing multiplayer when the campaign mode is more entertaining on Legendary? Oh I see have to prove your the best. I gave up on being the best in anything a long time ago! Now I'm happy with playing as it is.

The thing that I don't understand is why you would allocate so many resources to banning those after they have already cheated, instead of fixing the problem before it occurs. It would take no more than a few lines of code to check for such 'hacks' making a cheat free environment (besides in-game glitches or 'noob combos') for all to enjoy.
