Well, just leave your opinions/answers. Thanks.

No. This game is the result of listening to the community. Bungie is not overrated.
-
I completely agree with you.
-
Yes, they are. They're still easily one of the best game developers out there, but I feel that a lot of people think they are better than they actually are.
-
My opinion of them has lowered slightly in recent years, I use to keep them on the same level as Valve and Bethesda. I keep Bungie around the same level as Bioware: they've had a ton of good releases but the occasional not so great one.
Posted by: RaNDM_G - Halo pioneered the two-gun system. - Halo saved the Xbox.
1. Rise of the Triad was the first game (along with Marathon apparently) to have dual wielding 2. Halo was a launch game. There's no "saving" when there's nothing to save from the start.

Bungie, no; Reach, yes.
Posted by: Zach Teter "The Dark Knight" is overrated...
THANK YOU!!!!
-
yes bungie bent over for activision on the first date
-
Posted by: TH3K1N6 Yes!
I agree. For every "new" feature they put in the game, they're behind like 20 steps.

WARNING! HUGE WALL OF TEXT! If anything, Bungie is underrated considering how almost no one pays any attention to their work before Halo. Let's look at the standards Bungie has set in the industry: - Minotaur was the first dungeon crawler role-playing game to have multiplayer. - Minotaur was the first game to combine single player with multiplayer, since up to seven players could play in a dungeon until the last man standing would win. Think of it like Brink, but nineteen years ago with dated graphics and having a dungeon setting instead of an island. - Marathon was the first FPS game that used the mouse to aim in three-dimensions; not just left and right. - Marathon had the most advanced physics engine of its time, taking into account eight times as many variables as Doom did. - Marathon broke away from the linear action of most FPS's of the time by having the story unfold by accessing terminals, leaving the player to piece the story together on their own. - Marathon was the first FPS to have dedicated multiplayer maps instead of borrowing levels from the campaign. - Marathon judged multiplayer scores by player's kill/death ratio instead of points earned, valuing skill and strategy over suicide attacks. - Durandal was the first to have voice chat in multiplayer. - Durandal was the first game to feature dual-wielding weapons. - Durandal made King of the Hill a popular gametype. - Infinity included Forge & Anvil, one of the first level-creating systems in an FPS players could take advantage of. - Myth greatly emphasized squad based tactics over resource mining and unit construction. Hit-and-run tactics, flanking, and unit conservation proved more effective than the "meat-grinder" tactics in Warcraft or Command & Conquer. - Myth had an advanced physics engine which greatly affected gameplay. Archers could easily miss their targets at medium to long ranges or may be more likely to hit friendly units. - Myth had a dynamic weather system that could negate fire-based or explosive attacks. - Myth can easily be seen as the inspiration for the Total War series of games. - Halo pioneered the two-gun system. - Halo pioneered third-person vehicular combat in an FPS. - Halo saved the Xbox. - After GoldenEye, Halo put console multiplayer on the map. - Halo made LAN parties popular. - Halo made machinima popular. - Halo 2 made online console multiplayer popular. TL;DR Pretty much everything we take for granted in video games can be traced back to Bungie. [Edited on 03.11.2011 4:43 PM PST]
Posted by: flab0
Posted by: ParagonRenegade No, but 343 is.
Yeah, people are treating 343 as if THEY are gods. They haven't done much for Reach yet, yet people expect SO much out of them, and may be disappointed if 343 doesn't live up to their expectations. While I believe 343 could probably do a good job, I'm not gonna put ALL my hopes on them.
Well they are more involved with the community on their forums.

People just don't go on any random game to "hate." Reach sucks.
Every decision will bring on the haters. I hate armor lock, but if they took it out, a bunch of people would start hating.
The armor lock whores would hate but that would mater just as much as if boosters hated Bungie for getting banned.
Posted by: Zach Teter "The Dark Knight" is overrated...
Really? I thought Ledger was good in that film.

me thinks inception was a bit overrated. I mean it was cool and all, but not AMAZING. PS, Bungie isn't amazing either.
