Mass Effect 2: Revenant or Widow?
Question for you Mass Effect players out there: I'm doing yet another playthrough of ME2, as an imported Soldier from the first game, and just got to the Collector Ship mission.
Despite having beaten the game multiple times before, I always have trouble choosing between the Revenant machine gun and the Widow sniper. As of now, I'm using:
-Mattock DLC rifle, think the G3 from COD4, I guess
-Eviscerator DLC shotgun
-Phalanx pistol, almost a sniper rifle
-Viper sniper rifle, 12-shot rapid fire
So my issue is choosing a good sniper and assault rifle to complement each other. I love the Mattock's accuracy, but use assualt rifles mostly, so the Revenant is amazing. The Widow is good too, but I'm thinking it might just be better to choose the Revenant and use the Mantis as my single-shot sniper.
Opinions or suggestions?
EDIT: I've got Adrenaline Rush evolved to Hardened (enough to empty a Mattock clip in one go) and almost always use Tungsten Ammo (+70% damage against health and armor)

I find the Viper to be of more use than the Widow (although one shot kills are awesome), it has a reasonable rate of fire, accuracy, etc. It's a good weapon to carry around. So I'd go with the Revenant. But it all depends on personal choice and play style.

I would use the Sniper, it's way more accurate...IMO.

The Widow is the best Sniper Rifle in the game. The Revenant is not the best Assault Rifle in the game. Also the Widow can take people down in 1 shot to the head on even the harder difficulties. Only choose the revenant if you are doing so out of fun.

Pick the Revenant. The Viper is hands down the best weapon available if you have Adrenaline Rush and Incendiary ammo. The Revenant is also a beast if you choose Jack's warp ammo as a talent.

Revenant. Sure the sniper is quite good, but the revenant is quite good at mowing down enemies reasonably quickly, provided you burst fire.

I prefer the Assault rifles to the Machine gun, it's inaccuracy doesn't justify it's power. Go with the Sniper.

I like the Widow.

The Revenant works well in crowded areas. Otherwise the Widow makes it easy to take down harder foes. Heck I foolishly chose the Claymore shotgun with my Shep (Infiltrator). It's really up to you though.

I'm trying to pick a good weapon combo for Insanity. If I choose the Revenant, I think I'll use -Revenant -Viper -Phalanx -Eviscerator If Widow -Mattock -Widow -Phalanx -Eviscerator

Choose Revenant, try to avoid firing full auto except in CQC or against large crowds.

Nonsense. You could have sprayed wildly fr a few seconds and maybe hurt one or two Collectors (unless you are playing on easy). The Widow is bally useful against the harder enemies on harder difficulties. And you can use a 'Hand Cannon' to take down the rabble.

I prefer the widow, I didn't like in inaccuracy of the revenant

Go with the Widow. Geth pulse rifle > Revenant

Thing is, I just researched the AR Accuracy upgrade. From my previous playthroughs, I've discovered that the Revenant, when burth-fired, is a death machine. One burst is all it takes to kill most enemies.

If you are a soldier always take the revenant...always

Get the sniper. The revenant is so inaccurate, the starting auto is much better IMO. But I don't know about all these DLC guns, so I wouldn't really know.

I can't use a sniper in ME, partly because I suck, and partly because I always choose Adept. So......go with the machine gun.
