Okay, I know this story is old but some friends and I started discussing it recently and the argument pretty much seemed split between "That kid is retarded and they shouldn't shut down the ride" and "anyone could make that mistake they should shut that dangerous ride down".
If you're not familiar with this story here's a link.

Basically, some kid at a six flags jumped two 6 foot fences with danger signs plastered all over them to cross through the ride area in an attempt to cut in line and the coaster came through and knocked his head off.
Posted by: Lies It says the ride was temporarily closed down to show respect for the family, which I guess I can understand.
And to clean the blood off. Everyone should be happy. That kid will never get a chance to reproduce. The gene pool needs all the chlorine we can find.
Posted by: Heavy Risk Well he'll never be the HEAD of a major corporation
Classic. On topic, the kid is a retard. That's like shutting down an Interstate because a kid ran out in the middle of traffic and got killed.
-
Retarded kid wins darwin award. Obviously the ride itself isn't the problem here, so safety isn't the issue. It says the ride was temporarily closed down to show respect for the family, which I guess I can understand.
-
Darwin would be proud.
Posted by: H0FFman J It's safe to assume that he was heading in the wrong direction.
zing! I used to work in an amusement park and they definitely had signs posted everywhere that you could die from being in that area. One I recall actually had a decapitated stick man pictured. If the family sues then that is bs. Kid was dumb
-
I remember hearing this story a long time ago when I was a around 10 or so years old? It's pretty sad that he would lose his life to something so stupid. I can't imagine what it would have been like to be on that rollercoaster and see that kid die right in front of me, absolutely disgusting.
-
That sucks. Kids need to pay attention. I'm a teenager and I do a lot of bad shiz too but at least I kind of pay attention to what's around me.
-
A six year old sees a human head.........HOLY CRAP!!!!
-
I wonder what the people on the ride were like. Oh wait they couldn't see him because they had their eyes closed while they were screaming. If one had their eyes open then that person should have said "STOP THE RIDE, THERE IS A KID IN FRONT OF US!"
Posted by: ElementalRunner Also, you know what decapitated him? A woman's leg. Yea, the women punted the kid's head right off. Safe to say her leg was shattered.
way to copy Daniel Tosh
Posted by: Heavy Risk Well he'll never be the HEAD of a major corporation
Austin Powers Cookie for me?
-
Yes, but the rollercoaster clearly neglected to stop.
They were determining if the attack was provoked or not. They ended up deciding it was because it mistook the kid for a seal.
you know what they say, humans and seals look similar at extreme speeds
-
He would of lost his head if it wasn't screwed on.
-
It's safe to assume that he was heading in the wrong direction.
-
No one with their head screwed on straight messes with Batman...
-
BOOM headshot!
-
Posted by: Clarpzy Dumbass shouldn't have hopped two fences that said "Restricted Area". That's just natural selection.
This. To be fair.
-
Posted by: ZachUSAman wow, he scaled 2 6ft fences, good climbing.
-
you either heard about this or were reminded of it watching daniel tosh's stand up special happy thoughts. you know how when people see your cast they always ask you how you broke your leg... "i punted some kids head 90 yards" [Edited on 03.09.2011 12:32 AM PST]
