First, and most importantly is that nearly all of Europe was very anti semetic at this point in history. If you think about it, nearly no Germans argued when he told them to make sure Jews wore the star on their sleeve. They jumped at the opportunity to vandalize Jewish owned businesses during the night of broken glass. Above all, Hitler was a man of his time. Second, Hitler considered himself a super patriot. Much of the propaganda said that the Jews who ran the banks stabbed Germany in the back. So, when he had the chance, he believed that he was replaying in kind. Third, he was crazy. And not a little. He had massive doubts as too his -blam!- preference, his peronal doctor was shooting him up with meth, he had OCD, and was paranoid with deleusions of grandeur. The above two reasons supplied the start, this was what tuned into what we remember. Now, with all this said, Hitler didn't run the concentration camps. He himself never peronally killed a Jew. There were more thn a few Germans willing and able o conductthe Holocaust on his behalf.

The Jews had always been different then the rest of the world. They mostly kept to themselves, not taking part in others communities. Now, after WW1, Germany was screwed. Their economy sucked. Their soldiers were pissed, and their government ineffective. Most of the Germans were struggling to even make it through the day. Now the Jews, however, were a bit better off. Most of them held important positions, like doctors, or engineers. People you always need. And if they didn't hold that position, they traded. They bartered, which negated their need for the worthless German Mark. Hitler had always been jealous of this, and since they were nearly the opposite of his plans for his master race, they were the perfect scapegoat. TD;RL HE got beat up by some Jewish kids when he was a kid.
-
Germany suffered an economic crisis during Hitler's time in power, and the majority of the banks/financial institutions in the area were operated by Jews. Naturally, the blame went to all Jewish people.
-
So he could blame everything that went wrong, and every draconian policy/power he added, on a convenient scapegoat. Plus saying "but the Jews undermined us!" let him and many others stop being so butthurt over losing WWI. Plus he was clearly insane.
-
Well, throughout history, Jews were the scapegoat of problems. And just after WW1, Hitler needed someone to take the blame for the German loss, and blamed the Jews for no reason. Stupid I know, but what can you do about it. Also, wasn't he turned down as an artist. Wasn't the person who turned him down Jewish? IDK, I may be wrong.

A few reasons. 1. He didn't get into art school, which was run by a jewish person 2. The jews ran a lot of the banks, which were doing very poorly 3. the jews were a little better off than the rest 4. he was a little crazy.
-
he blamed all his failures on the jews. he tried amd failed to get into art school and was in terrible physical shape for the military and he blamed these on the jews
Posted by: XB Fighter Germany was in a great depression after WW1 and they all wanted too blame somebody but they knew it was their fault. So hitler took the chance of power, and came up with the solution- it is the jews fault, and it always has been. The people were like, "Wha? it is? the jews are behind our misery? if u say so. it is the jews faults!" Plus when the -blam!- party came along people joined it because of their hatred, and the rest of germany joined in because they thought they were going to be part of something "special". They then started to "punish" the jewish very slowly, from taking away their privilages, making new laws just for them, and eventually putting them in the ghettos. Then, sending them to the camps. Then when europe found out about this, they got angery, and attacked germany, Adolf got pissed, and decided to take this oppertunity to take over the world. Then japan thought this was a good idea, and attacked pearl harbor. That got the US into the war. *sips tea* Oops, i accidentaly told you how WW2 started. sorry.
You hit on the first sentence or two but yes that's about how it went down.

People have been hating the Jews and blaming them for things for centuries. Millennia, even. He just chose a scapegoat he knew was an easy target, I suspect. Also, he was crazy.

They were a convenient scapegoat.
Posted by: Im5andwatisthis Fun fact: Hitler tried to send jews to Canada, but they refused.
jews refused or Canada refused?? lol

Hitler did not actually hate Jews in the beginning. His plans for improvement, although not bad, could not support the entire population of Germany by supplying them jobs. He had seen that about 10% of the German population was Jewish, which happened to be about the same percentage of jobs that would be missing. The plan was to send them to work camps, so that others could take their jobs. After a while, the Jews were to return and find new jobs in a better economy. That needed improvement was not found, and a new solution was needed. The Jews were kept in concentration camps. Now, Hitler needed to find a way to fix it. The easiest way was to get rid of the Jews. He spread antisemitism, and basically ended up believing it himself. Oh yeah, in those times, antisemitism wasn't very uncommon among the Germans and most of Europe. [Edited on 05.10.2011 12:57 PM PDT]
-
Because a wave of antisemitism encompassed all of Europe in the 1920's-1930's.

i doubt he really even did, he needed a target for his countrymen's rage at having a failing gov't - he was able to point to the jews and say "hey fellow germans... hate life?? it's their fault!!" kinda like today in the states our country is in the tank - people are pissed - who's fault is it?? evil doers hence - we should wipe them out and we will feel better bout ourselves
-
Fun fact: Hitler tried to send jews to Canada, but they refused. Antisemitism wasn't just a German thing.
-
I honestly don't know. I've liked every jew I've met so far and they are just like other people. Stupid Hitler
-
He blamed them for the loss of WW1.
