All life forms dont really want to die...at all......neither does Gravemind. I think he'll do what he has to to help ensure galactic destruction does not happen. I think he was put there as the ultimate protecter to ensure that the rings are activated only as an absolute last possible resort. the only ones who want the rings activated are the covenant who we already know are mislead in the ideas of thier great journey.

I was wondering if the trailer is meant to be taken "literaly", or merely as a demonstration of the new graphics and such. Also, Has anyone given any word as to where in the game the trailer takes place, or if it is even to be in the game? It looks to me like the Chief is emerging from the wreackage of the forerunner ship, and that could mean that the beginning of the game is there, and perhapse the first mission is to kill the prophet and crash the ship. Also, now that the shroud of secrecey around the game is lifted somewhat, can we expect more details as time goes by? Or Is it all going to be kept under wraps untill the release date?

His helmet was off at the beginning of Halo 2. A better question would be whether or not we are ever going to see MC's face with the helmet off. I think bungie, should give us more trailers about the game. I know its supposed to make us more interseted, but i cant wait. Also Halo 3 looks a little dark, is there going to be marines in halo3? I hope so, cuz i cant defeat the covenant myself!

I know i missed out on the Q & A on the trailer..but i have a question I was listening to the trailer and i noticed when Cortana was talkin you can hear what seems to sound like the gravemind from halo2 and I thought maybe the gravemind is using cortana to talk to the Chief. At the end of halo2 after the credits they were together and The gravemind wanted to ask questions to cortana...am I Completely off on this or is there some relationship to the gravemind in the announcement trailer...Thanks Keep up the amazing Job

MC is going to re-populate the world after it's over...I'd laugh my ass off if there was a special scene at the end with MC and Cortana and Cortana says "Betcha can't stick it"...But seriously. Great update. Me friend was in it! Go Trigger Happy... Keep up the good work bungie, and tell marty to get to work on that Song in the Halo 3 Trailer I need it!! =(

In Halo 2, the `Oracle` that the covenant find tells Grieve`s daughter that the rings have gone through `X number simulated and 1 real` Now, even if the forerunners are gone, the covenant and humans are still there. So that means that If they fired it once, (presumably from the Arc on Earth) Sice a civilization appeared (or was still) on Earth, that Earth may not be within the blast radius of the rings. Thus, the people who activate the ring would be able to stay alive, and so Life itself would not cease in the Galaxy. At least thats what I think, but who really knows? Also, Its a total possibility that the Elites have changed sides due to the civil war, considering that those Banshees in the H3 Trailer flew pretty close to Chief, but didnt seem to notice him, or at least not care. The other spartans (some of them) coming back? that would be sweet, and its a possibility the ones on Reach found a way to survive, but that means you would only have a few Spartan allies. Then again, if one can turn the tide of battle, more could turn the tide of the war. Although from the trailer it looks like the war is pretty much over. I hope theres humans left, it would be too depressing to play H3 and realise it was for mere survival, rather than to save at least SOME people.

Because it seems odd that Halo 1 gets the AR and Halo 2 gets the BR but then he is using a slightly diff ver of the AR in Halo 3 again. Also, At the end of Halo 2, he was on the Prophets ship (somewhere) In Earths Orbit. If that Commander (Or whatever) Contacted him when he came into Orbit, and the trailer is after he has landed, does that mean that there are still remanents of the Human Military Force? or at least other Humans? because it seems like the Covenant took control REALLY fast after he just got there. Cant wait till this game comes out, unfortunately im in Japan for the next 10 months (yipee) so at least I wont miss its release date (If i did i think id piss myself)

i heard, almost a month after halo 2 came out, that there would be a new spartan in the next game.Sapposadly, if you got the limited edition halo 2 there was a letter describing someone who was injured and put in a hospital. Is this truely a new spartan, and if so when will we see him/her?
