The word "Craft" in video game titles
Anyone else notice that a few games have the word "Craft" in it somewhere?
Examples:
Starcraft
Starcraft: Brood War
Starcraft 2
Warcraft
Minecraft
and this new game I heard of "Fortresscraft."
Your thoughts?
BTW, I only named all the Starcraft games because I don't know how many games the other ones have.

Well as far as Warcraft and starcraft goes,they are made by the same company (hail Blizzard!)and was probably done intentionally,plus they are the oldest video games i can think of with the word "craft" in the name. Mine Craft,the name makes sense,you have a mine cart and "craft" mine shafts and buildings for you'r cart to go through (just talking about it makes me want to play it.) But Fortresscraft,come on,really? The games a blatant rip off of mine craft to begin with,but they could have done something at least with the name to make it some what original.

i think its because most of those games you sort of create your world, or create your army(startcraft and warcraft), but i think it really means 'create' but 'craft' just has a better ring to it in their opinions.

Starcraft and Warcraft both belong to the same developer. Minecraft was a fan suggestion based on Starcraft. FortressCraft is a ripoff name of Minecraft.
