Haha, I know how that was done I bet. At least in halo 3 and 2, there were strings you could add to gametypes to make it show the host's gamertag. I bet since they are using a modded console, they just changed their name to that string, then put (1) behind it.

This isn't the first, by the way. Unless it's the same guy. Couple friends of mine got modded in Arena Doubles by someone who had the exact same GT as my friend. He also had an aimbot and ran and superspeed.

He is using a modded gamertag so you can't find his gamertag. BUT it wouldn't fool the XBLPET. They will still be able to see his real gamertag.

The scenario in question has nothing to do with the game, despite the game being effected. If you take a step back, you see that modding the game has no effect on the base experience of Halo. In fact, it can improve it. CMT SP V1 is a perfect example of that, when you look at Halo Custom Edition. It's the system surrounding the game that creates the problem. I'll provide two examples for you. [u]Example 1[/u] Microsoft has set in community rules and regulations. That's fine. They have to enforce them and prevent them from being broken. These systems can, however, be bypassed. By using the methods that allow the modder to get through the system and play the game in the way he wants, which breaks the terms of service, as well as remaining masked to the system in place meant to bring his actions to a halt, he's revealing a huge problem with the system. One that needs to be fixed. [u]Example 2[/u] Matchmaking has been the way to go for many online console games since it was introduced with Halo 2. It allows for one to hop into a menu, and start searching for people without any trouble at all. As far as console games are concerned, it's replaced the old dedicated server system. In this system, you pulled up a list of games, both hosted by an individual and run on servers (there would be no person hosting these servers, and they would run regardless of population) In this atmosphere, you were free to do as you please. This type of setup is prime for the modding community, as it allows them to share and demonstrate their alterations amongst each other and to the rest of the community. Yeah, there were aimbotters too, but you could either leave the game, or, provided they are present, request that a server admin boot the aimbotter in question. It all really depended on the atmosphere of the server you were in. this all could simply be interpreted as someone showing that they want a dedicated server style option (what you may like to call a custom game finder) in Reach in a more extreme manner. My money is on the first one, as it seems to me the second one is a stretch.
