Setting Specified Spawn points for Juggernaught/Players

Ok so I am making a map where you have 1 Juggernaut (as per norm) but want it, and the non-Juggernaut players to start at specified points. I'm at a bit of a loss to do it. I read in several places that players are red and Juggernaut's are blue, fine enough for me so I set the tags on each to "red" for the normal player spawns and "blue" for the Juggernaut Spawn, and yet it doesn't appear to work. Instead players and the Juggernaut are instead spawning all over the place, none of which are on the specified spawn points. Anyone have a fix?

  • Haven't tried changing the weapon for that myself, though I was having issues giving players starting weapons in juggernaut as well. I do know it was a bug where you couldn't change the juggernauts weapons back in October, surprised it hasn't been fixed yet.

  • i have a problem with juggernaut. who knows how to get the juggernaut start weapon to change? i changed it from hammer, went in to custom to test, and juggz was still holding a hammer wtf? [Edited on 02.11.2011 9:31 AM PST]

  • Well that's... horribly disappointing. I'd think that since zombies could spawn somewhere else that the juggernaut could to, but apparently not. Though I suppose I could achieve the same effect with zombie mode making all players zombies and one player human with different traits. (still juggernaut would have been better since I wanted them to replace it, oh well)

  • You can't do it. Longer answer: the Juggernaut never spawns, technically speaking. If a player kills it, that player becomes the J. When they die, it's passed on and the player respawns as non-J. Only at the beginning of the game does the J spawn, but not really. The order is (1) player spawns, (2) one player randomly becomes Juggernaut. It doesn't matter how many spawn points you give to the J, it can't use them because it doesn't spawn as a J, it spawns from/onto players.

  • Yeeaaaah, been all over the internet and tried quite a few things to no avail so far. Was hoping I'd find someone that made a custom juggernaut game (my map works great aside from this one issue) that had solved it, this but to no avail. The forge forums said in a big official post "players are red and juggernaught is blue" for spawn points, but it's a FFA game and assigning teams to the points just makes them not function and assigning just colors doesn't work at all XP People keep likening it to infection but the only options seem to be Juggernaut and FFA for the spawn tags, and no combination of them amoungst the 2 different points works to control who spawns where XP

  • The game is a juggernaut type, I just can't get it to spawn in the right place, instead it spawns randomly on any of the spawn points (so do the players) rather than spawning on the specific spawn point set for it. (Ie everything about juggernaut still functions properly aside from the spawn point) So, I suppose what I'm saying is I don't get what you mean by "label a specific item juggernaut" as I've labeled the specified spawn point "juggernaut" and it still won't work. (I've done this turning it the proper blue team color, keeping it neutral, turning its object color to blue, keeping that color neutral, etc. Still nothing seems to get it to work right.   • You need to have a specific item with the specifiction of juggernaut of something in the forge for a juggernaut game to work properly. For instance a infection mape must have a safe haven some were though if it is not a safe haven gametype they person phases it through a wall to make it inaccsesable but it still makes the game infection.

  • Yes Re-spawns for the normal players, no re-spawn for the juggernaut. Also tried it with all player spawns as neutral > free for all and then the Juggernaut spawn with blue. Still didn't work, Juggernaut is spawning in random spawns. Nothing ever spawns in any of the "team color specific" spawns.

  • Perhaps leave all spawns as neutral and one assigned to blue? EDIT: are you using initial spawns? Stupid question I know, but that's all you need for the juggernaut as he is constantly changing between active players. [Edited on 02.10.2011 1:48 PM PST]

  • Popped into forge to double check and the only label's I'm getting (note it is under juggernaut game type) are: Advanced > Game Type Label > Juggernaut or FFA Tried both and neither worked. If I free up the team labels to neutral they'll spawn there, but not seperated (ie the juggernaut will be randomly in one of the spawns). [Edited on 02.10.2011 1:26 PM PST]

  • juggernaut operates a blue team, but I'm pretty sure you need the Juggernaut_spawn gametype label (available when editng for the Jugg game mode)
