I've finally got it figured out why Dragon Ball Z fights take 30 episodes to show. Note how the characters say the fighters say they're moving so fast that they can't even see them, but you can see them perfectly. This would mean the show goes in SLOW MOTION and the fights that would normally take only about 1 minute tops, are shortened down to speed we can see, which is why they're so long.
I win the game?
Posted by: MainString0158 I haven't watched DBZ since I was 11. Do people past that age really watch it? Not trying to be a douche, I really didn't think people still watched that show.
ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?! DBZ is LIFE, no matter what your age.

Yu Yu Hakusho > Dragonball Z. Period.

Because it takes skill to make an anime that damn good compared to these now a days.
Posted by: Troglodyte Slim I guess that also explains why Namek took twenty years to blow up.
HA
Posted by: relliK42 It takes 30 episodes because such epicness can't be contained in a single episode.
It's this, don't bother with any other answer.
Posted by: relliK42 Well, would you like a five minute fight? I mean, yeah, that was definitely not five minutes. But it's anime, no Dragonball Z. It doesn't need to make sense.
Posted by: Snowolf95
Posted by: Troglodyte Slim I guess that also explains why Namek took twenty years to blow up.
I can still remember "in five minutes this planet will blow up". Many episodes later planet is still intact.

Pretty much.

No the fact is this. There lil bits of things they show inbetween the fights during each episode is the whats happening at the same time but they can't show both at the same time so they show a fight then go back a bit to show what else is happening. I figured this out in the cell games when gohan was on TV and it shown the same thing twice on the kings TV. So it takes longer because its switching between 2 things on in the present and one in the past leading to the present and then switches back. This is also why they wait for each other to attack as it tries to show what both characters are thinking but in the time frame of the show seems like its just dragging on. Or the transformations are just so they can test them selves as they do attack sometimes when charging up or powering up but it normally fails anyway. [Edited on 01.31.2011 4:13 PM PST]
Posted by: Kazorgo They are slow because the anime was being made alongside the manga. The anime was being made faster but was drawing its story from the manga, thus lots of filler.
That's how it is with any anime.
-
Don't forget how long it takes them to charge up their energy.
-
It is obviously because they are all constipated and spend a lot of the time trying to push it out. In this time their hair grows and changes colour.

-
No, it's because they need MOAR money from extorting the show.
-
You mentioned the game, so we all lost.

I guess that also explains why Namek took twenty years to blow up.
