I'm more than sure you all are aware that when you match against someone, you can USUALLY gauge what level they are at simply by looking at their gamertag.
The thing I want to bring up is when there is someone ridiculously good with a gamertag like scubasteve00002, i don't know what to think. are they REALLY that good or are they lucky?
ever had a moment such as this?

I like my GT because it is very easy for people to remember.
-
I like my gamertag personally haha

I wanted a one word Gamertag when I made my current account; a synonym of 'pseudonym', or 'pseudonym' itself. I tried 'pseudonym', 'anonym', and quite a couple more. Wound up settling for Pseudo Spirit, as my old teammates (and I suppose current-ish, I play with them frequently, just not ranked or clan matches like we used to play in H2) used to be the 'Spirits'. I find Gamertags without numbers/letters/improper use of capitalisation very boring usually. Having said that, in the pre-game lobby in Rumble Pit the other day, I came across HYPNOSMASH. Gave me a chuckle.

Mine's shabenya. I do very well in almost every gametype except for Elite Slayer. I hate seeing the xxxxxxxxXxxXxXXxXYYYYYYXxx MlGzzzzZzzzz1337 PRO D emm R BR QwiiZzKopz xxxxzxzxzzzyyyzxXZYZxzxyZx gamertags. If one could have that long of a gamertag, I'm sure I'd see one of these. Anything with PRO, BR, MLG, or the annoying xXXx thing.

I still believe BondageKitty was the the best choice.

If they have the word "sniper" in their name, they are usually a little kid that always goes negatives or a guy that is really good and is amazin with the sniper.

Simply that you may take it too seriously.
lol wut? u saying i suck?
Seriously? I kept it to less than twenty words, and you still missed the point that badly?
Posted by: Demon2023
Posted by: TalonOTW Well, if you look at the MLG settings, they're all DMR/Pistol/Sniper/Rockets intensive, with melee being next to worthless, and movement speed slowed. Now put him in a game on normal settings with a guy who is very good at getting behind people and assassinating them. Also, I wasn't referring to actual MLG players. I was talking about the people who have gamertags like that.
In MLG, the Melee damage is reduced, and movement speed is faster than the default speed. Just so you know.
Aha. Thanks. Guess you can tell I don't play it that much. But still. Tactics he isn't used to having to counter will still take him by surprise. [Edited on 01.31.2011 8:17 PM PST]

No. The only tryhards are the people that judge others based off of their names.

The weekend that just passed was a free XBL weekend where XBL Silver members were allowed to play online. So a bunch of my friends and I made variations of our gamertags that purposely looked try hard. We basically took the main name of our gamertag and put "IZ GOD" after it. So in the lobby we looked extra try-hard. This is what people saw: PINGY IZ GOD STREEEAM IZ GOD MYTHIC IZ GOD GRILLER IZ GOD REFUSED IZ GOD SHADOW IX GOD And yes, I purposely put an X in SHADOW IX GOD as if I'd accidentally typed the wrong letter when I was making my gamertag. It was a lot of fun and of course we just competed to see who could get the highest K/D. I wound up with 5.0 and my buddy got 10 (70 kills and 7 deaths).
Posted by: allthejewzz
Posted by: TalonOTW I tend to see that the people with the, as you call them 'tryhard' gamertags tend to be good, within a very small niche. Vast majority of 1 word GTs are good.
