• You can figure all this out by reading Halo: First Strike. The Brutes were once said to not obey Covenant or Humans. But all in all, this data is very informative. If you get more, Frankie, please email Kylergasser@comcast.net. Thanks
Posted by: Frankie Your guide to the inner workings of the greatest threat Humanity has ever faced, and an alien civilization that's a lot more complex than you'd think.
• it is simple to understand how the war can possbily end... with humanity being out of time and earth discovered, their only hope lies in driving a wedge between the covenent itself. Brutes, a new powerful species are a threat to the elite soldiers becase of their great power, and the elites might feel threatened. Humanity's only hope lies in breaking the relationship that holds the covenent together, possibly by proving to them who the forerunners really were, and how we are realted to them... remember, the master cheif is repeatedly called "reclaimer" and it is a human, not covenent soldier chosen to operate halo... also, he has knowledge of halo's systems, seemingly pushing the right buttons at the right time... genetic memory? ive said too much. but all this could be key to mankind's survival... my 2 cents

Any ways this is probbly the best place for newbies to learn other than playing the game its self. Also newbies always bring their own strategy in to the game which keeps it from being pridictable and gives the MP option plenty of replay value.

 • well isn't that special, now we get to see there little puny masters, to tell u my honest opinion, in halo 2 the covenant will fall apart from the inside out, and one or more of the races will join with master chief and the human race, oviously this won't be the prophets, or the engineers, and my best guess is that the jackals won't either, but there is a high chance that the elites and hunters will, quite possibily the grunts, but i forsee the elites leading the crossover. for one, they hate the prophets, they only want recognition and pride, although power is also important to them, it just seems like they truly don't hate us humans, thier only following orders. i personally would love to fight along side the elites in battle against the covenant, but thats just me. since i'm all set up now, yall should be hearin from me alot more, lol, halo is life. "live long and prosper, then give me all ur money"

 • Okay here is the official plot spoiler. The war is not going well for the humans, then Master Chief locates a powerful artifact on earth of Forerunner technology. Being the master chief, he is somehow able to activate the devastating device. THE FORERUNNER PLANETARY DEFENSE SYSTEM. NOT BEING ABLE TO CONTINUE to bombard the planet and taking heavy loses from earth's now shieled rail guns the Covenant are foreced to bet a hasty retreat at the very least to recover. Meanwhile, Guilty Spark lands on another HALO., this one closer to earth then his last. The first thing he does is release the forerunners Mad Battle Droid Army. He also begins to search for any sign of Flood infestation on this Ring. One of the Mad Battle Droids accidently opens up a flood door and another infestation is at hand, but since the Droids are not flesh and bone, the flood have to host to inhabit. Unfortanelty that wont last long, because the retreating covenant armada has just located this new ring Also. MEanwhile on Earth. Cortana's neural interface is attached to earth's super computer net and all the information she stole from the Covenant and the HALO installation is downloaded into the Defense system. The super computer is able to extapolate the location of the next closest HALO and is also able to track the location of all close forerunner technologies. Also, the information in Cortana's head includes the location of the Covenant Solar System. Chief is re-united with the remaining Spartans and a new mission begins. First to locate a forerunner weopon believed to be on the moon and then to head to the covenent home worlds and trigger this weapon there - for all pratical purposes this to believed to be a suicide mission. During the moon mission, the Spartans are greeted by a Covenant excavation force, obviously the convenant are aware of the artifact on the moon and want it also. After kicking covie but on the moon, the spartans head towards the cove home world, along with the remaning earth forces. Since the earth in now protected, Earth's leaders decide to play there hand. Okay I am too tired to continue

 • THATS A INTRESTING FACT YOU HAVE THERE I ALSO BELIVIE IN THAT STORY (CIVIL WAR) I MYSELF HAVE READ THE 3 FIRST BOOKS AND THEY WHERE GO PS SORRY FOR MY WRITTING ITS A BIT BAD
Posted by: PREDAT0R You are misreading, the prophet is talking/thinking about a BRUTE. also... We do know that the prophets have claimed to be the descendents of the forrunner, and that their origin is the forrunners' home world. From the flood book, p. 6: " Like all members of his caste, 'Fulsamee knew that the Prophets had evolved on a planet which the mysterious truth-givers had previously inhabited, and then, for reasons known only to the ancients themselves had subsequently abandoned." The prophets know alot more about what is REALLY going on. I believe they are using the other alien races to get what they want. If the truth was uncovered, that they are not descendents, or that they actually have been lying to the cove, I'm sure a civil war would erupt. I'm sure that is what will happen
•
Posted by: halowolf
Posted by: googadude 5. On the topic of having the other spartans (linda, kelly, etc.) fight along-side you in halo 2, I have to admit, it would be inarguably cool. Unfortunately it would require an excrutiating ammount of back-story and cinematics in order for gamers who haven't read the books to follow. I mean if halo 2 started where first strike left off it would leave a lot of gamers scratching their heads ("wait, wasn't master chief on a longsword circling halo's debris? AND WAIT A MINUTE, THERE'S MORE MASTER CHIEFS!?!?") The easiest way to have a simple transition from halo to halo 2, while still following the books, would be to introduce a 4th book, still inbetween halo 1 and 2, to bring everything back to a norm (normal in halo standards, like killing off the other spartans, and putting the chief in an easy to explain situation). 6. wait, there is no 6. I hope i haven't made too many people angry with me. I certainly did say a lot. (and just for the record, the forerunners could very well be human, i just don't think the evidence is concrete)
To resolve the story line with the books, and Halo there is going to have to be either: some big explanations to be made in Halo 2 (like ingame cinematics or Cortana history lessons); assume people have read the books; have some explanations in the manual; or ignore the existence of the books alltogether. :) Personally I would like the storylines to be integrated. The released cinematic of MC space diving a covenant ship, could suggest that the ship that the MC escapes the story of First Strike in is the one that delivers him to earth. From memory it was an earth ship, but I don't remember its name or if my memory is even correct :) I agree that there is nothing explicitly said or shown that makes Humans the descendants of the Forerunners, but the hints provided can be interpreterd to make that a distinct possibility. Plus there is that small matter of the Halo Index in Cortana's possesion and the informatoin she was able to take with her off of Halo. I feel that that will become the key as to the origins of the Forerunners and of the Halo artifacts, and may well provide clues to the Covenant as well. Some of the screen shots do more than suggest that other Forerunner installations are going to be fought over.
They had better integrate the story from the books.

 • i got one thing to say to the prophet sniping being an avid sniper myself....HELL YA!!!! god that would be great o and maybe tanking out some engeners or being able to use them to fix human stuff like in "first strike" that would be great Vbtw all good ideas to improve game playV
Posted by: Mr McMurder - a "pronate" move so that you can lay down while sniping. This could be balanced by taking a long time to "get up" Am I the only one who looks forward to sniping a Prophet between the eyes in some large gathering and slipping away in the ensuing chaos?
