I think they would end up friends who work together, but would secretly plan to destroy the other one in the end. I think Slashers would have an advantage over tentacle hands flood, but flood in some instances can use weapons, although not well. What you got for me b.net?

1 ReplyThere is a type of necromorph which is pretty impossible to kill, it constantly regenerates, your only choice is pretty much just to run away. I can't see the flood being able to compete with that.

1 ReplyOne man who is almost the citizen equivilent to MC and has acess to weaponry that is much more advanced that the Unsc's arsenal.
Posted by: Atomic Blowout flood. the necros may be the same but as others have said the necromorphs can't even kill one man.
You also forget that a single necromorph decimated an entire gunship full of well armed soldiers. [Edited on 02.08.2011 8:56 AM PST]

Add the Hybrid bioweapon into this charlie foxtrot and let's see who is the winner.
Posted by: Phoenix Phire13
Posted by: The FenderGlyph The Flood, because the Necromorphs don't have a central sentient being controlling them.
Actually, they do. The flood and necromorphs are pretty even. However, necromorphs have much more powerful forms, like this. I don't think any flood creature could handle THAT thing.
Also if you think about it the Marker is actually quite deviant, since it can affect peoples minds and motives either through causing them dementia or tricking them into creating more Markers(play dead space 2).
Posted by: Atomic Blowout flood. the necros may be the same but as others have said the necromorphs can't even kill one man.
The same can pretty much be said about the flood and master chief, it's just pretty much luck that gets them through. And I know master chief is immune to the flood.

Necromorphs infect by inserting their DNA into it's host whether it's dead or alive through any kind of physical contact. It is impossible for a flood to infect a virus, which is what a necromorph basically is.
-
flood. the necros may be the same but as others have said the necromorphs can't even kill one man.
-
Flood. No question. Nobody is stupid enough to think Necromorphs (what a ridiculous name) can win anything.
-
Flood, the necromorphs have no way of reproducing their main warriors as there is no sentient being for them to reproduce in.
-
plus the necromorphs have a hive mind
-
Neither. They can't even fight each other.
-
Well the necromorphs infect dead bodys
-
Who knows they not might fight at all for they infect a body so they would started fighting chemically or in a cellular level over the body, but unless the body can provide enough nutrients for both species they might work together in a mutual symbiotic relationship (for the clueless they are 3 types of symbiotic relationships parasitic, mutual, and communism) or one could just feed off they body while one controls in a communism relationship. What I'm trying to say is that since they are not completely intelligent then they might not fight unless one posses a threat to one another in a case were they fight for food . If they do fight it would be hard because parasites of parasites are rare and the only other species that does that is to pass genes altering male sperm of one species so the outcome are females able to fertilize themselves.
Posted by: th3m4dblimp3r Hehehehehe, erm... I wonder if the gravemind can get dementia.
I doubt it, like I said before, the Flood are not living but they are not dead. They are on the same level as Necromorphs, and if the Flood was like the Necromorphs in terms of violence I can guarantee that they would rip a person apart just as well as a Necro would.
-
Hehehehehe, erm... I wonder if the gravemind can get dementia.
-
Depends if they get a Gravemind. If not, the flood will derp derp their way to their doom. But if the Flood get a Gravemind, all -blam!- is going down.
-
This is an awfully heated and well thought discussion for infection vs infection. Seeing as I know little about the necromorphs, I'd say the Flood because they can use weapons, drive vehicles, and retain the memory of their victims. Well, without the gravemind, they're more a menacing group of hunters rather than a Universe consuming army of death.
Posted by: CrazyCrackerJack
Posted by: Dreezy12 Flood. Why? They have the Gravemind
That's exactly why the Flood would lose. Necros aren't controlled by a single creature, unlike the Flood.
The Necromorphs have the Hive Mind, and when they don't have a Hive Mind they have the Marker, the Marker gets destroyed the Necros get destroyed. Now that seems like a MUCH bigger weakness right there...of course it is hard to destroy a marker.

Necros aren't controlled by a single creature, unlike the Flood.
Hivemind...? Anyway, the Flood can use weapons, fly ships and the Gravemind cannot be perminantly killed. In fact, he has no center of being. That thing you talk to in Halo 2 is simply the organ it uses to communicate verbally. The Gravemind has no singular body or form. It technically HAS no form. He's instead distrubuted over the vast armies of the Flood. He IS the Flood. His consciousness is not one you can kill or reason with. Part of the reason the Mind can't be actually killed.

The flood because they would probably infect the necromorphs as easily as anything else. You are all forgetting that the flood defeated the forerunners. Forerunners would kick the -blam!- out of necromorphs. [Edited on 01.28.2011 4:00 PM PST]

Flood, the Necromorphs lack a single entity that speaks entirely in poetry. [Edited on 01.28.2011 3:56 PM PST]
Posted by: Ownerlord1997
Posted by: th3m4dblimp3r Necromorphs seem more brutal. I suppose it would depend on which species is more potent on a viral level. IE, which infection can infect the infection without being infected? Off topic: My vote goes to the xenomorphs. Concentrated acid for blood, wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee
xenomorphs are a different strain of parasite and would be infected but will have to be drained first
I don't think a hollow husk would do much...regardless of Necromorphs needing host bodies they will usually only infect bodies that are suitable and strong, a dead Xenomorph with it's blood drained would be more of a liability to infect. Xenomorphs pretty much are the perfect alien.
Posted by: KrakkahJack
Posted by: suburban angel
Posted by: General lou2 Necromorphs would probably infect the flood, screwing everyone even more at that point.
Why can't the flood infect the Necromorphs?
Well, sometimes a deficiency of calcium depending on the Necro's body. (Might have bones missing...LOTS OF BONES MISSING.) Necromorph cells reanimate dead cells, and Flood spores have to be inhaled to infect. Does anyone want me to make like a Venn Diagram or T chart on this?
If anything they can't do anything to each other. The Flood can infect bodies and thus make warrior units or they can have True Form Flood. The Necromorphs can't infect the Flood because the Flood aren't living and aren't dead, so there is literally nothing to infect. I'd say they would probably make a symbiotic relationship, helping each other out to further their infections, they are pretty much the same.
