Think about it. None of the games show food, emergency provisions, or any Spartans eating.

Of course the need to eat. All living things need nutrition.
Posted by: PublicToast They survive by fulfilling their Grunty thirst.
It takes 250 Grunts in a single day to satisfy a Spartan's Grunty Thirst. It's quite a Challenge, if you ask me.
-
They eat their crap.
-
You would imagine they had armour-integrated water canteens and food stores, but they have externally mounted canteens. In Ghosts of Onyx, Linda picks one up and hands it to another SPARTAN.
Posted by: Kitn42 On "the package" when you are defending halsey's lab there are MRE's lying on the ground behind the sandbag barricades. Does that count? :) Although I hope 500 years from now we would have something a little better than Meals Ready to Eat...
They are surprisingly good.

My spartan eats MOA!
Posted by: Sol the Elite But why don't we ever see evidence of food or fast food in any of the Halo games? Eating would be boring, but why make it seem like food is unnecessary?
There are food shacks/advertisements all over Halo ODST and New Alexandria in Reach. Also, Spartans don't need to eat food because they live off of Grunt and Moa tears. [Edited on 01.22.2011 9:59 PM PST]

I find it rather annoying to have to go out of your way to eat and drink. It's a game. People want to escape reality for a little while, not eat, drink, and sleep in the damn game. It's like the Sims all over again.
Posted by: mercenary335
Posted by: Sol the Elite Why not in cut scenes?
what cutscene would it make sense for them to be eating in?
Eeehhh boring, nothing like sitting there watching your character eat a burger in the middle of some massive, fast-paced war based video game. Also none of the cut scenes have space for eating to be involved. Imagine in Halo 2 when chief gave the covenant their bomb back and taking a bite out of some food while he was doing it. It'd be the same for most of the cut scenes, nowhere to fit it in. [Edited on 01.22.2011 9:27 PM PST]

well, they did discuss a plan, in a cave, and they did not have cheezburgers, or any food for that matter. Not to mention the less food they carry the more ammo they can carry.
-
Well say they were discussing a plan. Why not eat a cheezburger while discussing?

Why not in cut scenes?
-
No, they eat drinks.
-
They're not going to waste time showing Spartans eat. Obviously, they do. It's implied. Also, Halo isn't the type of game where you have to drink water or eat a hamburger to up your health. It would be very irrelevent to waste time on food.

Haha Mass Effect 2 FTW!
Posted by: ajw34307 I wish they still made role-playing games like they used to, these days it's all "big choices" and "visceral combat". I miss those old games where you had to remember to drink water, and it took five hours real time to fly somewhere.
IT WOULD BE VERY BORING TO WATCH A HALF TON ALIEN KILLING MACHINE SIT DOWN AND EAT A CHEESBURGER!!!!!

Mmmmm... Moa Burgers.
-
Um, they're still Human. They have to eat. But no-one wants to see them eat. That's boring.
-
dont forget about the fish place on longshore, but this is Halo, the story moves way too fast so spend time on watching people eat, but I would like to see how Emile eats since apparently he never takes his helmet off.
-
Ya! I miss those games too.
