Hey guys. So I recently switched to an EVA helmet permutation, and found that I died a lot more in swat. I'm thinking it's because the EVA helmet acts like a giant shiny fishbowl shaped target around your head, and makes it easier for the enemy to get headshots. Any thoughts? Has anyone else found this to be the case or is it just me? Thanks!

EVA=sniping target.....that was an old joke in halo 3

i agree

I don't think it matters what helmet you have. If someone is even decent at swat, they know how to aim at your head without even looking at you. Many swat players instinctively turn and get a headshot without even seeing the enemy. Same goes with shooting across map. I don't think your helmet standing out more mean anything to anyone with much skill. It should help the noobs a little, but that hopefully shouldn't be a problem for you.

Headshot hitbox is the same for everybody. It might attract more attention though.

Eva says ''shoot me in the head now!'' Unless maybe its black

It is the same concept as the elites and their giant hats. Its not that the hit box is any bigger, its just that the helmet/hat is bigger/brighter and easier to see and lock onto. Elites are easier to snipe than Spartans because of their hats and giant cartoon heads. Eva Spartans are easier to snipe because of the fishbowl they insist on wearing.

EVA is very visible especially with the default or gold visors bout the only thing worse would be the flaming helmet that everyone seems to think is so cool.

it just doesnt blend in with the background as well. the hitbox is the same, but visually it is easier to track. although the difference will be barely noticeable, so if you are doing significantly worse its probably either bad luck or due to something else

The hitbox is the same for all helmets, it may be easier to see over a distance but not easier to hit, though it being bigger may make you think "Hmm, fishbowl helmet, I can definitely aim my reticule on that, unlike the Recon helmet, lulz, reconz. Pew pew pew!" Point is, the helmet is a bigger target since it's larger than most helmets, yet it's hitbox is the same, reason being for the hitbox being slightly outside of smaller helmets like the Recon helmet or Mark V or whatever.

Thats why I didn't bother with my flaming helmet code.

I wear EVA and flames. I usually have top score in swat. So I'd say for the most part no, it's not that much easier to see. People say it does, and for more advanced players maybe, but it doesn't get me killed any more or any less. [Edited on 01.13.2011 7:22 AM PST]

I hear the visor is a dead giveaway. It's known by some communities as the "shoot here" helmet.

Perhaps its an easier visual target, meaning easier to spot for the enemy, but I doubt that its a bigger target.
