Why does the UNSC not have ATTACK DOGS?
The police use them to great effect. Thier exclusion from the Halo series has upset me very much. I am writing a very angry letter to them with lots of frowny faces to let them know how angry i am. Seriously attack dogs would pwn.
Just imagine...

Shipmaster: What is it
Elite: Four legged creatures ripping apart our shields
Shipmaster: Counter attack
Elite: Too late they have boarded
Barking in the distance
Shipmaster: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU......
Covenant loses war
PS: Didnt know COD had them as i have never played it. dont mistake this for a silly cod fanboy thread. This is super serious big deal stuff we are talking about halo here.

Police these days use them against people...and often not against people with guns. As far as I can see, having dogs attack 2.5 meter tall Elites equipped with flesh-burning plasma weapons doesn't seem like really bright idea...but that might just be me..

Not economically feasible, they'd have to ice the dogs during transport, else they'd die within 20 years (and that's max) and there goes all the training and dog food/breathing space down the drain. At most robot dogs would be probably used (instead of humanoid robots, as the four-legged model is much more stable, and is capable of aligning the body's center of gravity with the barrel of whatever weaponry there is). I'm surprised that they haven't perfected robots by the 26th century, the way things are halo combat tech is stuck in the 22nd or 23rd at the most. [Edited on 01.10.2011 3:31 AM PST]

I mean, dogs with AL would be about as annoying as it gets when you're driving around and the idea of a litter of dogs running out of a pelican onto a Covenant cruiser is laughable. Mount them with an explosive device upon their termination ( unless in proximity of friendly units ) and those Covies will be spending the rest of the war in fear.
