Visor binoculars. ( zoom HUD instruments.)

Does anyone have access to an in-depth detailed version of what exactly the two different censors read when zooming with any weapon that is not equipped with a scope in halo reach? From what I have uncovered the two different censors are color coordinated as red and as green (when overlapping they produce a yellow color). The censors are mounted on a graph that appears to be at 30 and then 45 degree angles on both the right and left sides. The Green censor moves in the opposite direction that of which you are looking. When you turn left or right enough the censor appears to reset on the opposite side of the graph and from what I have concluded this correlates to when you turn enough to move your legs to compensate for the turn. Most of this makes sense to me, although I have yet to undercover what makes the red censor move and also, I have yet to understand what exactly this tool could feasibly be used for in competitive gaming. If anyone has any thoughts or ideas, or infact you know of a site where all this is explained. Please, feel free to post comments. Thanks
