Name your favorite ships name from Halo. Preferably UNSC ships, but covenant named ships are ok too.
Also don't pick a name we all don't know, like from an obscure source not everyone has seen.
Mine is the UNSC Spirit Of Fire!
what is yours?

The Pillar of Awesome! Seriously though, either the Pillar of Autumn or the Texas (named in Halo Wars, and it's my home state)
-
Shadow of Intent

I like the name "pelican" because it reminds me birds. And birds fly.
-
The Spirit of Fire :)
-
the ardent prayer (the corvette in long night of solace) or long night of solace (the name of the supercarrier in the same mission)

The Space Docker.

For the Covenant, Ascendant Justice was always my favourite. For the UNSC, the Iroquois because it was the birthplace of the Keyes Loop.
Posted by: FuriousTJS Yeah your right, aegis is a greek word, but it is also used to describe something similar in norse mythology. Bungie draws on greek historical aspects like spartans and the spartan project, but what is funny is that they also draw from norse mythology with the armor being named Mjolnir, which has something to do with norse. kinda cool
totally cool. I submit that Bungie has laid the seed for "Master Chief" to become synonymous with Ultimate Cool in about five hundred years :P

Spirit of Fire

unyielding elephant. i mean unyielding heirophant
Posted by: pulvis ira
Posted by: FuriousTJS Aegis Fate I believe is correct spelling. sorry to be a nit picker. I also think the name is derived from norse mythology
IIRC Aegis is Greek for shield, or some other word implying protection. Fate is definitely Latin in origin, though it's not clear if this ship's name was meant to be an amalgam of the Greek and Latin or the Greek and English. I vote Pillar of Autumn as my most favorite name. It was one of the first things about Halo CE that made it stand out as unique. Has a kind of poetry to it IMHO.
Yeah your right, aegis is a greek word, but it is also used to describe something similar in norse mythology.
