Many of you may or may not have heard about Reticule Bloom being removed from Halo Reach in the next title update. This is true to some extent. For those of you who are hearing this for the first time I will go ahead and explain:
New video from Halo Anniversary showing of the new map pack has sparked some rumors and facts about the reticule and more possible updates. Link Below.
Halo Reach No Bloom Confirmed
Now this video is 100% legit, captured from the Damnation Gameplay. If you look at the DMR about half way through there is absolutely 0 bloom no matter how fast you shoot. (Although the AR still looks to spread out like normal? idk why)
Other update's included are: Bleedthough, Grenade Bouncing, Bleedthough Beatdowns, and Armor Lock Cancellation.
For a video of the entire game with times to showcase these updates, please click below and read description for times.

Bleedthrough: When shooting, beating down, or otherwise taking damage; You can receive damage to your health even if you have shields. The damage "Bleeds Through" your shield and lowers your health.
- Bleedthrough Beatdowns confirmed as well, thus 3 shots to the body and a beatdown will actually hurt there health not just deplete shields. I dont know if it's a kill for sure yet.
Grenade bouncing is BACK! Yes the UNSC has finally covered frag grenades in rubber for extra bouncy action!
Last but not least Armor Lock Cancellation: From what it appears to be in the video; Armor Lock can be canceled from a grenade. Although it's not 100% confirmed (more a nice 85%) it appears he is "Kicked out" of AL after a grenade lands near him. Or he just hopped out of it the second after it exploded. That is unclear. Also unclear is if beatdowns, rockets, or other explosions cancel AL. All in due time...
But the MAIN POINT OF THIS THREAD All these updates are confirmed for the *Classic Playlist*. So no you will not have to "Adapt" (sorry for calling out like 100 people screaming like children at the top of there lungs) If you dont wish to. All other playlist Will Remain The Same.
Again: THE UPDATE'S WILL ONLY APPLY TO THE CLASSIC PLAYLIST
That being said, if you like bloom... GOOD FOR YOU!
If you hate bloom... GOOD FOR YOU!
We can all be happy now. I personally love it and like the extra challenge of having to pace our shots and Spammers can only get lucky. I mean our bullets already travel at the speed of light so we dont have to lead our shots; so the Bloom really fits Reach well. <-- but that's just my opinion. I am entitled to it so please no flame wars. Doubt it wont happen but try to keep this thread clean.
Forgot to add: This update will be releasing around the time of Halo Anniversary. Again no release time is confirmed. Ill keep you updated.
-Thanks!
Posted by: Sir_Griff "fixed" is a suggestive word. I would never say it was broken. When you think about it Bloom represents the actual affects of shooting fast. When firing real firearms you cannot maintain a perfect sight picture and 100% accuracy especially firing fast but if you stop and rest then begin shooting again your first shot in a succession is usually the most accurate. I believe bloom mimics this perfectly. But I'm glad your happy it's back! Enjoy the classic playlist ;) well you could maintain about perfect accuracy with an automatic weapon provided you have a bi pod, and really lets think about a Spartan who can punch a tank to death it's safe to assume that a spartan could maintain near perfect accuracy with a semi auto weapon within the draw distance of about 150 meters. Honestly I am not entirely opposed to reticule bloom. In Halo 3 I tried to push the AR to the limit of it's effectiveness because they actually made burst fire accurate. As a result I have killed players all the way out to the draw distance. However it was just 10 time easier and quicker just to use a carbine or BR. The only problem with reticule bloom on the DMR and NR is it's beneficial to fire when you have a 80 to 90 percent chance of hitting. that alone makes use of the gun too luck dependent. but like you said great that there is to game types to benefit us all ;)
Totally valid points. I just disagree. But 1 thing we can all agree on is The New Maps are gonna be AWESOME! Can't wait. hopefully they wont all be in the classic playlist lol they just need to do a DLC playlist like always. Gawsh can't wait for the new maps! Gonna bring back some memories.
