Cross-Save PS5
Hi, I started playing on ps4 on d1 and then moved to steam for d2. I’ve just bought a ps5 but had to make a new Sony account as I don’t have access to my old one with my old login.
I have cross save enabled but can’t sign in on my ps5 under my steam login?

Hi there, Thank you for reaching out. We understand you're unable to sign in using your Bungie account with your new Sony account. A Bungie account cannot have multiple of the same platform account linked to it. As such, if you linked your older Sony account to your Bungie account, then it will not be possible to use that same Bungie account with your new Sony account. You will need to recover the older account in order to use your characters on PSN. To use your characters on PSN, you will need to use the already linked PSN account. You'll want to contact PSN support to regain access to it - if you can't regain access then you wont be able to access your characters on PSN. Bungie will not unlink the PSN account and as of March 25th 2025 Bungie removed the ability to unlink platform accounts (excluding Twitch) from Bungie profiles, so even if you regain access you will not be able to change which PSN account is linked to your profile. In your case, your cross-save is setup with PSN as the active profile - so even if you were able to change the linked PSN account you would lose access to your characters/gear etc on Steam.
