Unfortunately, as of March 25th, you can no longer unlink accounts.
Bungie will not forcefully remove an account for you.
There are no exceptions to this policy.

That's quite the shame, thank you though. If anyone from Bungie is reading this, I'm not sure why it's permanent. Even limiting it to once a year would solve this problem for people like me while not allowing people to exploit it. Hopefully this gets changed in the future, I'd like to play again.

You used to be able to unlink but changed it to this setup to curb recoveries and such.
