I get that you, Bungie, want to add new systems and make the game feel new. I get that you want to add new ways of earning gear and bring new experiences for new and old players alike. I get that you try to make things easier for people to access activities and load into things. However, this new system ain’t it. In fact, it’s, in the most respectful way that I can find how to put it, a complete and utter dumpster fire. There’s no other way to put it. You’ve taken the joy and fun completely out of earning and farming for new gear. I used to sign in and look forward to doing the weekly featured raids and dungeons to get gear as well as the pinnacle, all the while using LFG to run into new people. The game used to at least have some livelihood to it because there were multiple ways, and not just one set way, to get powerful pinnacle gear, whether it be Nightfalls, Crucible, Gambit, Weekly Story Missions, or Features Dungeons and Raids. I know that some people would probably say that the new portal system, to some extent, does that. However, it feels that there is absolutely no love in the new system at all. I can’t look forward to doing things like raids or dungeons, or even just Gambit, like before because in order to get higher gear, you have to do activities specifically from the Portal. You can’t go to Destinations like you used to, and decide that you want to LFG for Kingsfall or Salvation’s Edge, because nothing from Destinations drop pinnacle or power gear now. Not to mention, to even get higher in power level, it requires you to farm one thing in the Portal 100+ times back to back just to get higher gear. Portal has rendered everything else outside of it obsolete and because of such, Destiny 2 feels completely dry and it’s utterly painful to try and even grind for higher levels. It’s like you, Bungie, have officially given up caring and just handed us scraps and said, “Here you go.” Again, I understand that you are trying to add new ways to get gear and make the game feel new, but being honest, this new system feels like the death of Destiny. Please, please, please, please go back to the old system how things were, before Edge of Fate. Please go back to having featured raids and featured dungeons. Please go back to giving activities like Vanguard Playlist, Crucible Playlist, and Gambit playlist purpose. Keep the portal available for those that do like it, but please give us our old system back.
