Prime Drop Rate
All featured gear except a sword some times, GR 9, in a maxed clan, A tier score and doing bonus every time. After 120 activities over 3 days Ive gotten 4 primes with 2 being duplicates. This is the most braindead vision for a power progression system I have ever played in my life. The fact that a few TWIDs ago power progression was mentioned to be too slow and now with the latest TWID it’s becoming slower??? Am I missing something?

I have halted all grind towards 450. I play what I want to play right now with no expectations on Primes. With A&I so close, it really does not make sense to push to 450 with Primes instead of just grinding power normally when its unlocked again. With that said, I have been playing a bunch of comp, and have gotten a few primes there, feel that the rate is higher than in PvE section of the portal (unless using optimized Prime strats like solo ops 3m blitz cycles). I am 433, and havent really pushed for it since I got 400. I did use my solstice armor unlocks strategically to gain the most power out of them though (unlock slowly and balance to increase power of the next unlock when the math worked out).

1 ReplyYeah the current system is not good. I suggested a meter/bar, it would have solved all their issues. We'd know how long it would take to complete and they could have tweaked the progression of the bar in relation to the activities we did. So for instance, the bar would be full at 15 points and they could set Solo Ops to 1 point, fireteam ops to 2 points, pinnacles to 3 points etc. It's way more fun to play when you know you're actually progressing. In the current system you never know if it's going to take 7 or 39 activities to get a prime and it usually makes me log off instead. And yeah, they really need to implement a gear check for prime engrams. It sucks to get two of the same slot in a row.

1 ReplyI agree - thought Id take a run at 450. Been grinding nonstop for many many days like its a second job. Started tracking how long it took to get a prime. What I noticed is that it took a long time to get 1, then it progressively became less and less until it reset, then it would take a long time again. My longest was 24 completions, then 19, then 15, then 14, etc. At some point it was 5 completions then it would reset back to a high high number. It didn't matter the encounter. Length of time, complexity, etc. So I just run caldera. Over and over. boring AF. Some times I would need two primes to move up 1 level. I currently sit at 431 and I think I'm done. Not worth my time and its just not fun. I recently did 13 runs of whisper since I was in the lower prime drop rate of my tracking and I was hoping to get a 5 tier Mint since its the reward of the day. I ended up getting 5T boots. and only about 60% of my competitions resulted in a mint. All A scoring, but no Mint. All in all, the game is not worth the time. The rewards are not worth the time. The content they took away only leads to playing a small finite list of activities over and over and over again. Who ever thought this was a good idea should be fired.
