I don't see the Sony Interactive Studios logo when I start the game ? -
Awesome. I can't wait to comeback to Destiny. Holding out to it get's time & resources put into it. Whether it be under Bungie or PlayStation - If you build it, they will come.
-
Keep holding with your wallet. When bungo’s senior leadership gets the can, that’s when I’ll think about opening my wallet again.

10 RepliesDo not rejoice. It’s never a good thing when an acquiring company usurps the management of their buyout. No way they understand the nuances of a game they didn’t create or the nature of the player base or match the passion of the original creators. While Destiny is shedding players daily and almost wantonly building player animosity, I doubt Sony has the chops to step in and right the ship. That said, if the game stays as it is, easy steady cash for Sony for a little while at least, but if I’m on the sidelines, so are tens of thousands of other lapsed players Bungie has lost touch with. Sure, you can champion the game as it is (I wouldn’t), after all, it’s still monetarily successful, but it could be even more so. It could require all those lapsed players (me included) and their MONEY$$$. I’m on Xbox with literally zero competition for Destiny and I still won’t pay to play for this tripe anymore. I pine for the destiny of old, and I would pay handsomely for that experience again, but I doubt Sony leadership would get us there and Bungie has certainly lost their way IMO… 😕

"Please be aware that, in the following remarks, statements made with respect to Sonyʼs current plans, estimates, strategies and beliefs and other statements that are not historical facts are forward-looking statements about the future performance of Sony. These statements are based on managementʼs assumptions in light of the information currently available to it, and, therefore, you should not place undue reliance on them. Sony cautions you that a number of important factors could cause actual results to differ materially from those discussed in the forward-looking statements". That's the disclaimer that began the Q1 earnings call. This is the transcript of the CFO's presentation: https://www.sony.com/en/SonyInfo/IR/library/presen/er/pdf/25q1_sonyspeech.pdf Here's the presentation itself: https://www.irwebmeeting.com/sony/fast/20250807/Hm92pdqE/202603_1q_02_en/01_speech/index.html As you'll note these comments are not included in the script or presentation. And actually, if you watch or read the presentation... she credits Bungie in part for a 40% increase in revenue per the Sony 1st party portfolio. The comments Ali is misrepresenting comes from the Q/A session after. Here: https://www.irwebmeeting.com/sony/fast/20250807/Hm92pdqE/202603_1q_02_en/03_qa/index.html Integration started 1 year ago time and is ongoing. 😇👍💠 Tldr: The most important statement made during the Q1 presentation, not referenced by the hate baiting journalist Ali, "In our studio business, our live service game revenue is steadily growing thanks to the MLB The Show series, Destiny 2 and Helldivers 2, and it contributed more than 40% of our first-party software revenue during the quarter". Do people know what "1st party" means? It means Bungie IS... and HAS been a 1st party Studio... A Sony Studio. Like I've said many times before guardians. It means, that Destiny 2 is partly responsible for a 40% increase in revenue for Sony. Stop lightning tiny matches and handing them out as torches... It's ridiculous. It's a gross negative mischaracterization of reality.

12 RepliesEdited by A485258: 8/7/2025 7:55:03 PMNot in response to OP and I think EoF is terrible and turned all Guardians into beta testers, but the sentiment that a Sony takeover is good, is laughable. 1. Sony Walkman brand died because it couldn’t innovate. 2. Sony’s cellphone division died because it couldn’t innovate and keep up with advancing technology. 3. In the 70’s and 80’s Sony was the dominant electronics manufacturer in the world. It’s been forced into obsolescence in almost all product categories except one, its PlayStation brand. 4. Sony bought Bungie. Think about it. If Bungie is in the shambles that you believe it to be in, what does that say about the company that blindly bought the pile of excrement? Bungie is not the only underperforming acquisition that Sony has made. If Sony can’t even correctly identify a worthwhile asset to acquire, it sure as hell can’t create one or turn a ship around …. Sony isn’t saving anyone or anything. It’s barely saved itself in the last 30 years.

2 RepliesEdited by xbroggiex: 8/8/2025 4:06:09 PMIf anyone believes Sony will save Destiny or invest lots of resources into it then they are incredible naive. Nothing short of Forsaken sized expansions yearly would save Destiny 2. Even if there was a hypothetical Destiny 3 it would take years to develop and hundreds of millions of dollars to be anything worth a damn. All you'll see is more crossover content and scummier practices to save costs before Sony pulls the plug. They paid 3.6 billion for Bungie they ain't about to pump more money into one of their franchises that is withering.
-
5 RepliesSony wasted how much on Concord?
-
Good. Screw the stupid -blam!- decision makers at bungie. Worst expansion ever.
-
21 RepliesAll we are waiting to hear is bungie leadership was removed. I hope everyone else keeps their job
-
4 RepliesBungie leadership still successfully drug this out long enough that they'll all qualify for their giant payouts, right? Convincing Sony that Bungie was worth 3.6 billion (including $1.6 billion in retention payouts to executives!) has to be one of the most successful cons in business history.
-
1 Replypsssttt...i'll let you in on a little secret. the 'takeover' started the day sony gave bungie $3B dollars. anyone who doesn't understand that is incredibly naive....
-
13 RepliesYeah but the real question is did this merger happened after or before Edge of fate development... The reason this is important is because it depends who decided to make the decisions for the current progression of edge of fate if it was bungie or Sony because if it was bungee then bungie is responsible for the game and the community going downhill.
-
Is it the beginning of the End or A bright Future? Will find out.
-
2 RepliesShould be no surprise ! It’s either be good or bad for destiny …should be interesting over the next few years . I wonder if the Bungie name is wiped out completely…Bungie is a former shadow of its self anyway .
-
Finally! Lmao. Let’s see your trans man in a dress get you out of this one Bungie 😂😂😂
-
2 RepliesEdited by HahnSolo98: 8/8/2025 11:38:52 AMWhen acquisitions happen, the parent company sucks the profit off the acquired and then spits them out when done. I’d expect the game to move in a less creative direction and just head towards profit and loss decisions. Nothing good will come of this. Simple as that. How Bungie got to a $3.6B valuation…..now that’s art!
-
5 RepliesI saw a similar article earlier today! Thank god they said something about it. Can't wait to see if they end up ousting Bungie management.
-
4 RepliesYea, this game sucks. Thank God for Marathon
-
Sony taking over wouldn't make things better. They're trend-chasers who can't innovate and they've been chasing that Live Service Dragon ever since picking up Bungie. They're going to want Destiny: Fortnite Edition and will make those kinds of changes irrespective of what the players want because their "market research" is a decade behind and IP crossovers are "all the rage" or something. Bungie is bad. Sony is as bad or worse.
-
3 RepliesThey've finally realised Pete sold them a 3 legged horse 😂
-
About time. Probably too late to save the IP though
-
7 RepliesThank goodness. Now Sony will not give noobs their safe space anymore 😈 Sony please remove sbmm no other Sony games have it and destiny definitely should not have it. Bots had their time remove their safe space.
-
interesting as i own both xbox & ps5 slim
-
Marathon should be out before March 2026 according to the Sony CFO. Expect support for D2 to dwindle towards zero
