Edge of fate? Nah Edge of Unemployed
This power grind is redonculous man. I have a job i work 16hrs a day 6 days a week once in a blue moon i get 5 days but thats rare for me. Although my clanmates dont have the same job as me they also couldnt take part in this raid due to having a job and the fact the power grind got turned up to the power of 10. From what ive seen this raid is absolitely ridiculous the bosses have huge health pools and if i wanted to take part i couldnt you know why? Cause i dont have the time to grind ever so slowly just to play the raid meanwhile you got people who are alredy 249+. This DLC is basically catered to the people who dont have jobs cause they get to stay home all day and grind LL while i have to work for my living.
Also 8 months later still havent gotten my gambit necklace from rocklove.

6 RepliesI mean I'm not defending this game at all and you're probably exaggerating, but you should probably find a job with less extraneous hours that sounds awful I don't know why youd waste what little time you have playing this.

This game doesn’t respect your time or your life so why devote your time and life to it? Even if you work 40 hours a week and have other hobbies it’s impossible to progress with this game in this state.

Then again, with a system in place to always keep us X power under the content there's not really that much point of grinding. I'd be way more open to a grind if it actually resulted in anything - as of now it's just another tier value on the screen but with no real purpose.

Bungie really wanted to focus on an artificial grind. Only players who benefit are those who spend every waking hour playing. Grinding IS NOT FUN, but Bungie made it a requirement FOR EVERY GOOD REWARD. I will be playing the same people in Comp a month from now, but I will be getting better rewards then than now... Why? It is totally arbitrary and stupid to put loot behind a time gate.

Whilst I agree that the grind is ridiculous, this is mostly a damning indictment of work practices and what people as a whole are willing to accept in some places. And I say that knowing plenty of people with field jobs (i.e. who aren't behind desks, but are out doing things like farming or construction, or who are enlisted).

2 Replies16 hr shifts uh why lol that’s on you. I mean I do 12s 60 hr weeks but that’s my choice. I agree the grind is stupid and has ruined my desire to play this game. I also am nowhere close to being raid ready but then again a lot are

The next one can be for PvE players, or vice-a-versa. Your time will come, as will mine. Let an expansion release just for the casuals. Let another be just for the hard-core players. And another that favors the solo player, and another just for teams. What's wrong with this? It's not all about you (or me). Try to please everyone, and you'll end up pleasing no one. So, let's sit one out here and there and let our brothers and sisters have an expansion just for them. Our time will come, and go, and come again, and leave again, and so on.... That said, this expansion is definitely not for me, in terms of the campaign. I like the Portal and new stats and armor changes, but I've never enjoyed "the grind," and I despise sunsetting of weapons and shady business tactics. I play for the feel of the character and weapons... couldn't care less about the story.

Not working 96 hours a week isn't unemployed. I work 40-42, play other games, and still have a decent amount of time.
