Glaives cancelling out Matter Spark functions
I am on Xbox but I suspect this could be a cross platform issue. I encountered this bug while playing the legendary edge of fate campaign for the second time.
This bug:
1. Prevents you from using dash or cancelling the matter spark ability
2. Happens consistently every time the conditions are met
This bug can be replicated through the following:
1. Head to any Matter Spark terminal or open your ghost after completing the campaign and unlocking the matter spark all over keplar.
2. Equip a glaive, Any glaive in any slot.
3. Hold the glaive and press interact on either your ghost or the Matter spark terminal
You will find the dash and cancelling abilities to be disabled. This works anywhere, including in missions. This bug can significantly effect your campaign if your not aware of it by preventing the use of full mobility when in Matter Spark form or making you wait out the timer on the ability every time.
I hope this helps anyone who’s having this issue. And I hope this helps this be patched. I 100% understand how stuff like this can slip through the cracks and I don’t blame the devs or bungie staff for this. I appreciate the work that is put into this game and I’ve had so much fun playing over the years, have a good day :)

1 ReplyI had this issue with only my Titan, and only while I had Consecration equipped also. I glaived my Hunter through the entire campaign and had zero issues. I also didn’t have the issue on Warlock for the brief period I was messing with glaives. It also no longer occurs on my Titan after removing Consecration. The keybinds seem to change when this bug happens. Cancelling Matterspark becomes Crouch instead of Interact and Charge explosion becomes Interact instead of Super. I never did figure out what the Dash keybind becomes.

This explains so much. I was getting mad about not being able to use it and then I've been using other guns and thought they fixed it. Thank you for explaining why that was happening

5 RepliesHi there, Thanks for reaching out. Just to double check, can you confirm you have a keybind set for primary vehicle fire? There's an ongoing issue where players can't attack in Matterspark if they don't have a bound key for this function, so that might be a possible cause of the issues you're describing. That said, if the above doesn't apply to you, could you please capture a video that demonstrates the issues you described with Matterspark while a Glaive is equipped? You can upload the footage to a public video hosting site, like YouTube, and we’ll be glad to take a look.
