Invisibility needs a cool down

I’m a hunter main, I ran invis before 2.0. Before it was 1 method of invisibility with a radar manipulation. There was an actual guerrilla tactic to it. You had to time these abilities. Now there is at least two ways of invisibility, and even more if you do things like run ratking. You can go with the entire match without ever going out of cover with the right mods and exotics. Their counter balance was to originally not give you radar if you were invisible, but people found ways even around this. Despite my own personal opinions of thinking it is a cowardly play style. That is the destiny equivalent of bowling with bumpers, it is quite overpowered in a 3v3 setting when the average TTK can be below .6 and there is a plethora of one shot weapons. While I think the most forward way to fix this is to have a cool down for the ability, similar to the “too stylish” debuff. I personally would like things to be even more of a passive nerf: things like movement decreases the amount of the illusion, making the player more visible or or even not allowing regeneration (health and abilities) while invisible. Everybody complains about what is ruining trials (maps, capture points, etc) but punishing skillful play by allowing such an easily exploitable ability spam will turn people away

    • I don’t know why I didn’t bring this up in the first place. Using gambler’s Dodge and sixth coyote, I could probably get six ways of invisibility before I have to deal with a cool down. What other ability; buff, debuff, attack even comes close to that? I want to think of something off the top of my head, it would be the throwable titan hammer, which would still require you to pick up the hammer, which usually means you have to kill your opponent, which means you would have to engage in skillful play.

    • I don't know who you were playing against, but pretty sure 99.9% of invisibility hunters, myself included, do not know what you are talking about. Most of the match, I am visible, invisibility does not prevent me from getting killed, even when I do use it, it only works, if you were unaware of my presence, and approach in the first place, which is almost never the case with skilled players. I get killed while invisible, and using my super even, no invisibility nerfs please.

      • No, because Bungie can't make abilities behave differently in different modes A PvP cooldown, would result in a PvE cooldown

        • Or...maybe they could just make them more visible again b/c apparently changing the lighting effects from Beyond Light is too challenging.. Just give them a purple glow and return their radar.

        • Or...hear me out Ask for aspects that don't contribute to that one playstyle, instead of asking for nerfs to the only neutral game void hunter has.
