There are aspects I think I’ll hate - potentially re grinding gear/light to play end game every season- and things i do like - armor 3.0 weapon tiers etc having 5/8 of my gear drops not be instashard is a welcome adjustment but; would rather this be an annual thing not every 6months.

  • I'm sorry but this weapon tier system might be the worst thing they have ever introduced into the game. I don't know if everyone has read/seen about this system but if u haven't u won't understand why it's so bad. Weapon tier is tied to ur power level. And ur power level will now pretty much be tied to ur playtime. If you don't play the game like a second job u will never ever get a tier 5 weapon. Bungie pretty much stated this themselves. Most players won't hit the mid season cap of 450.

  • First, we don’t know how long it will take to get the PL required to earn tier 5 weapons as none of the play testers had access to GM and Ultimatum modes. Second, we don’t know what’s enhanced barrels and mags and origins do. Enhanced nods open at tier 3. Not everyone needs a t5 weapon and a t1 weapon with the right perks is better than a t5 with the wrong perks. While I agree with you on one point that access to end game shouldn’t be gated by a seasonal reset power grind - we don’t know if it requires grinding like a raal job or a weekend warrior can get there- either way; I don’t see how this some how makes the weapon tier system bad.

  • My whole issue is that these weapons will firstly be tied behind a playtime grind compared to being skillful. You can be one of the best players in the world but if you don't have the time to get to the power level, you will never get the best loot. People who play more will have an overall advantage, just because they have more time to waste then other players which just doesn't make sense. And if bungie is saying a majority of the playerbase won't hit the mid season cap, you know the grind is gonna be crazy time consuming.

And the advantage a tier 5 gets over a 4 is unknown. Bungie saying a majority won’t hit cap - I’m not surprised when only 13% of the population do end game content like raids and even less master raids. The only video I saw explaining leveling was a CC named Datto ? Dato? Who said something along the lines of solo playlist B tier gave +2-3 PLand a A tier could give +5 PL. 250 PL / 5 light is 50 activities at A tier or 80 at B which if say a solo master lost sector at a slow 5min when some can be run in 2 min or less is a few hours of grinding for a skilled player.(this sounds tedious and boring btw) but even if it’s only +2 PL that’s 10hours of grinding across 3 months ? So yes if someone plays 1-2 hours a week; they may not make the power cap. But not everyone needs to have instant access to every gun either…

  • Best rewards should never be tied to a time commitment, they should always be tied to skill. Skilled players can do these things listed way under power and still get the best rewards, especially master raids and gms just due to fireteam based power. But still if fireteam based power is a thing in the new expansion skilled players won't get the good rewards from hard activites just because they aren't a high enough power level, even if the activity is done way underpower level.

  • I mean if there were no tier 5 weapons this wouldn't be an issue. So it definitely a problem with the weapon system. But no they needed to make thing for people who no life the game so they would feel satisfied and brag about it, but now instead of a cosmetic they are getting actual in game items that are stronger then other regular items all because they jave more time.

We don’t even know what benefits enhanced barrels and mags so…. This is like saying adept weapons are far superior than standard variants… when in reality it’s a few stat points

  • An extra round in some guns could change a lot. An extra bump to range or stability could mean out ranging someone in a 1v1 for a 3 tap. Little stat change could mean a whole lot. It's just dumb that people will get those because they have more time to play.

  • A clan mate can grind all they want, but if I'm still underpowered when we complete a gm or I won't get a good reward. The while system is flawed.

  • https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/1l2qil2/full_breakdown_of_early_edge_of_fate_gameplay/ I don't remember who exactly said it. But this is a full list of changes and if you go down to the weapon tiers it explains and show how the tiered drops will work.
Levelling Player power level: Everyone will be reset to 10 power in Edge of Fate, with 10-200 power being the persistent level range, gained from any kind of gear the same as how it currently works. Above 200 is the seasonal level range, gained from gear after you reach 200. Mid-season power cap for the first 3 months is mentioned to be 450, then 550 for the 3 months after that. Everyone will be reset to 200 at the end of a season(6 months)..

Weapon Tiers: Weapons drop with different tiers 1-5, 5 being the best, same as armour. Similar to Armour a higher tier means more stats/benefits. Tier 1 = Base stats Tier 2 = 2 Enhanced Traits Tier 3 = 2 Enhanced Traits, 2 Multi-perks. Tier 4 = 2 Enhanced Traits, 2 Multi-perks, Enhanced Mods/Mag/Barrel. Tier 5 = 2 Enhanced Traits, 3 Multi-perks, Enhanced Mods/Mag/Barrel/Origin Trait, Unique Ornament/Holochip/kill effect Cosmetics.
Nothing of the sorts....Again, every video i've seen nothing has stated you can't just join on someone who has the appropriate level to do X mode with X rewards. You yourself may not be able to though, in solo or if you're the highest and you're 300 you probably can't que for Ultimatum.

  •
Reward Ranks: Activities have reward ranks increasing up to A rank, signifying the potency of drops you will receive. Reward ranks are influenced by the activity difficulty like normal/advanced/expert etc, on top of any modifiers/banes you choose to customise before starting. The game will automatically calculate your score/grade you will likely achieve based on what you select before starting and show you the expected level/quality of loot you will receive. It is possible to achieve a grade above and below what is expected based on how you over/under-perform. Reward ranks are seemingly the only confirmed source of high tier gear so far, like A rank showing a tier 3 gear engram. Presumably high level/rank activities will drop tier 5 gear but it hasn't been specified yet from what I've seen. Once you are power level 400-450 and have access to the Platinum metal rating, the option to increase the difficulty to Tier 5 gear rewards becomes available. The mid-season 3 month power increase to 550 max will help make the tier 5 gear rewards level easier to achieve.
None of which stops you from joining on someone - but as I said you will be personally gated (which does suck )

  • Exactly the system is flawed. If u are running the same activity why wouldn't u get the same/similar rewards. Why do I get locked out of rewards just because I'm a lower power level. It's because Bungo doesn't respect player time they just want u on the hamster wheel every waking moment. But this time they are telling us they want us on the hamster wheel instead of hiding it behind red border weapons or random roll weighting. And after all the time we spend then u have to grind for the God roll. This tier system is terrible.

  • You’re not running the same activity though if your power is too low….its the same thing bow - run a master raid or normal adept loot vs non. If the master raid is too hard at your light you need to get it scaled by having a player who grinder a lot on the team.

  • Ur logic doesn't make any sense. If u get scaled, ur power scales that does nothing to the activity. If I am 2020 now and run a gm with a 2040. The difficulty of the gm doesn't get lowered for me it stays the same. So why should the loot differ at all.

The GM does get easier for you though if you join a 2040 b/c you're scaled to 2035...
