Cross Save unlinking
I unlinked the steam account that currently shows up in my cross save screen over 9 months ago, because it was the wrong account, so I waited the full 9 months or however long to link the correct steam account but it is still there. I'm afraid if I hit "authenticate" on it (the wrong one) in order to unlink it, that I'll have to wait yet another 9 months in order to properly link the correct account.
Has anyone else had this issue? I just want to make the full swap to PC from PS5. The only reason I still have my PS5 is D2 at the moment, and waiting yet another 9 months in order to play on the correct steam account would piss me off enough to not even bother with this absolutely maddening cross-save linking non-sense.

5 RepliesHey there, it sounds like you may have originally tried to remove it from the wrong screen, if you're looking at the 'authenticate' button on the cross-save page, that was not the way to remove it. It had to be removed from Settings, Account Linking. Unfortunately as of March 2025, accounts can no longer be unlinked, so it is no longer possible to unlink that account and replace with another.
