Seriously. At the bit when you're in the Sabre trying to destroy the Corvette's engines. I've done that part, now I'm on the bit where you have to destroy the patrols.
It's. Not. Possible.
If you even move anywhere near withing range of anything, it just blows you up pretty much instantly. There has to be a way to do this. I don't have any skulls on or anything.
How do you do this goddamn level? >:(
-
I killed everyone of them in one single try. I even got the Wake up Buttercup achievement. What's frustrating is how to get down to where the elites are before they shoot you down.
-
IDK, I never had a problem with that part. Believe me, once you're in the Corvette, things get worse.
-
It's impossible? O RLY? Tell that to my achievement.

i did it, so did my dad who doesn't even play online but has beat every halo on leg solo. if my dad can do it who's 45 you can too.
-
Really? I found the space part of LNOS to be one of the easiest parts.
-
Go youtube and check out nextgentactics halo reach long night of solace its on legendary
-
Long night of solace was pretty easy. The pillar of autumn was the hardest mission IMO. Just make sure you destroy any engineers and use headshot weapons.
-
I was able to complete Long Night of Solace solo, and you know what else? When I completed the flying part I ALSO got the Wake up, Buttercup achievement! For me the hardest part of that level was attacking the control room when you make the corvette got to refuel on the supercarrier.
-
When I did that part on solo Legendary, I found that doing a barrel roll didn't really help me, as the enemies would still be shooting me when I came out of the roll. What I did find helpful, though, was doing a U-turn (Most often downwards) and boosting whenever I was being fired at; this way, I would fly at them and pass them. Just a little thing I thought might be helpful.
-
The Sabre part is easy, even on legendary solo. At least, it was for me. My only true shining moments of skill in videogames show up in flight simulator scenarios. In every other situation, I'm a mediocre, poorly skilled player. I thank SW: Battlefront 2's 'instant action' space battles for that. Past the Sabre part, the interior of the corvette is where I got stuck on solo legendary.
-
I felt the same way, in fact i almost broke my controller, tv, and xbox at that part but eventually you will get through it
-
The Covenant Are Tought but NOT INVINCIBLE. Remember That.
-
Then how did I do it?
-
I don't know why people think Long Night is hard...Exodus and Pillar of Autumn made me want to rip my limbs off. But maybe it's because I played a lot of Star Fox as a kid and I'm really used to the flying mechanics.
-
Posted by: Kex Dragon Mage Of course it's possible, I did it. I didn't do anything fancy either, just use [lb] to dodge incoming fire.
-
If I can do it with all Skulls on, anyone can do it on Legendary.
-
i finished legendary campaign solo, not impossible.
-
I didn't have any problems with that part. Just stay out of range of the big guns and snipe them.
-
I found the level after that one(can't remember the name of it. The one with all the Brutes) to be a helluva lot harder. More BS.
-
Reach as a whole isn't too hard on legendary, it just takes some time. [Edited on 11.14.2010 4:40 PM PST]
-
Wait until you get on board the ship. That redefines rage :D Really though, after you blow up the engines, just hide on the side of the Savannah facing away from the Covenant ship. That's what I did.
-
Fail? yes. Sorry but you just arent trying hard enough. Solo legendary was EASY (the first part, defending the bomb, in agreement with the guy above, was hell). Just keep at it and watch rabid kittys solo legendary wlkthroughs on utube, those are the most helpful vids i could find but could use commentary. [Edited on 11.14.2010 4:31 PM PST]

well if u cant do it then u really suck at halo
-
I did it, and frankly that was the easiest part for me. I think that is was just me getting extremely lucky and having good AI pilots, because I didn't really kill that many. But, it is possible. Maybe the covenant just got in a spot to spawn kill you perfectly? I dunno, I suggest either redoing it from the beginning, or just keep trying. Everything will be in a different position and hopefully it will be easier for you.
-
I just beat it yesterday, didn't die once on that part. The part that took me the longest was when you try to actually board the ship because I was dumb enough to grab a rocket and sword before I entered the sabre.
