Stuck on "Heresy" Quest – Already Acquired "Tablet of Ruin" Before Quest Step
Hi Bungie Support,
I'm currently stuck on the "Heresy" quest in Destiny 2. The quest asks me to obtain an artifact from the monument labeled "Desire Made Manifest", but I had already acquired the artifact — the Tablet of Ruin — before reaching this step in the quest. Now the quest won't progress, and there's no option to interact with the monument again.
What I’ve tried so far:
Restarted the game
Returned to the monument — it’s inactive
Checked my inventory and vault — the artifact is there
It seems like the quest doesn't register the artifact because I picked it up before the quest required it.
Additionally, could you please confirm:
Do I need to own the seasonal pass to complete Act I of the Heresy episode? I currently only own The Final Shape expansion, but not the seasonal pass.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

1 ReplyIf you hover over the quest and look at the top right corner of the quest, which step does it say? If its Step 5 of 32 then you're at the license check and cannot proceed without the Episode: Heresy pass. If it isn't Step 5, then are you able to include a link to a screenshot or clip showing the quest step and your artifact already unlocked?

If you've already obtained the Tablet of Ruin before reaching the corresponding step in the "Heresy" quest and are now unable to progress, you're not alone—several players have reported similar issues. Potential Solutions: Revisit Eris Morn's Apartment: Even if you've already picked up the Tablet, try returning to Eris Morn's apartment in the Last City and interact with the table again. This action has helped some players trigger the necessary quest progression. Check the Shaping Slab: Ensure you've interacted with the Shaping Slab after obtaining the Tablet. This interaction might be required to advance the quest. Abandon and Reacquire the Quest: Some players have found success by abandoning the "Heresy" quest and then reacquiring it. This process can sometimes reset the quest state and allow for proper progression. Verify Character Progression: If you're playing on a different character than the one you initially obtained the Tablet with, ensure that the new character has completed all prerequisite missions.
