Needs a foot massage with Lego blocks.
That is all.
Edit: also, the Explorer mode "tutorial" is horrible. Like it's non-existent. You needed that extra week to get the tutorial straight, didn't ya?
And thanks for giving me the opportunity to get the Navigator exotic BEFORE this experience!

I love it, but its not for everyone. I would have went with an oxygen tank, and refill stations though
-
Agreed, although to take it further, whoever put a 6 minute timer on opening Ultimatum and whoever thought the concept of Banes was ever remotely fun I wish you nothing but career misfortune in your game designing journey. I wish far worse on any of the execs who approved this dogshit because I know it was only done to maximize time spent playing the game rather than challenge the player in any meaningful respect.
-
It's an ok dungeon.. atleast they've nerfed some of the bosses health.. The water traversal is patience testing to say the least.
-
1 ReplyI literally switched the game off part way through, wtf was that
-
16 RepliesI'm eagerly awaiting responses from all the people who insisted it was a good dungeon, only to run it for the first time and immediately loathe everything about it
-
I just walked away from a session at the final boss and getting to that point was not a fun experience. Between the non-stop adds spawning to his spamming his suppression grenades, that Ecthar fight was brutal. I'll either LFG or run the Explorer matchmaking version to finish out the quest and then I have no plans to ever set foot in that dungeon.
-
can't stand it . ran it got master done ,never setting foot in it again. don't care if it had the most game breaking gun in the game. it's why many players quit the game.
-
6 RepliesThe tutorial is garbage spire was a lot better, I got all the way to the last boss got stuck on lining up the symbols, they would just not disappear. Ended up restarting the end boss encounter then it all worked.
-
Not even logging in - games done
-
I wouldnt be surprised if the lack of tutorial was an outcome of the "3 weeks of Spire"-backlash and them rushing it. It was basically normal mode with nerfed enemies, that's it. They could have at least buffed the oxygen supply on the traversal part.
-
If it didn't have the slow a** walking simulator in the middle of it, it would be great. Cool aesthetic and all but the way they did "diving" in this game makes me wanna dive into concrete from the top of a building.
-
1 ReplyAs soon as they announced that this would be one of the RotN Dungeons, I knew it was going to be a miserable experience. Ecthar is the definition of insanity. Nonstop spawning ads. Little to no breathing room. Bane abilities that snipe you from anywhere in the room. Absurd amounts of moths. Even if you ad clear perfectly, you'll just die to some random BS. Even DPS sucks. Every time I get to DPS, it's a coin toss what Ecthar's AI does. He'll either rush the Well, or he'll strafe around cover.

Not sure why Bungie didn’t give the NPA Weir walker armor set increased pressure resistance. That’s a horribly ugly set of armor that could’ve been utilized solely for this dungeon but Bungie can’t think of things like that.

Edit: also, the Explorer mode "tutorial" is horrible. Like it's non-existent.
i didn't have too much problem with it. if you played at all during that season, the way things worked came right back. traversal sections? follow the bubbles. lol other puzzles/mechanics not that hard either.
-
No no no no. That's terrible. They should be cursed for life with stubbing their pinky toe in the middle of the night when they gotta use the bathroom. That is a more fitting punishment.
-
1 ReplyThe problem is the dungeon's traversals and encounter areas are gigantic. The hints between encounters could've involved directions, like following bread crumbs. Otherwise it's the same miserable oh--blam!--moth experience.
-
4 Repliesi actually had to do the hardest thing yesterday teach new players how to do ecthar and saman wizard all through game chat text box on a controller
-
1 ReplyThe final boss mechanics are still a mystery to me. My issue isn't in the dungeon itself, (well, it is a bit of 'What on earth is happening' for me. I now understand the comments I've seen around social media saying 'Good luck newbies on the final boss') but mainly with matchmake. Cause sheesh people don't know how to move as a fireteam. It's like you always have one person who has a firecracker up their -blam!- with how they speed through things. Like.. chill. Love the enthusiasm but tone the engines down. Half the time you're running this dungeon solo with how spread out the fireteam is. Was an issue on Spire, but it's much worse on this dungeon.
-
3 RepliesI mean I remember when it first came put the final boss health was much higher than it was supposed to be but they kept it, so I'm staying far away from contest mode because I do not want to know how she's like on it. So basically just running explorer to get the quests done and then calling it good, also should explain I've played since launch and since beta destiny 1 I have had my fair share of raids and difficulty that honestly I don't really care for it in d2 anymore. Heck ROTN is just for a title that will be replaced by another one and the weapons and armor will just be useless or broken (in a bad way) in the next update so me personally I see no point to please bungie and accommodate their behavior by playing their "endgame".

4 RepliesThis version is the best version of the dungeon.

Edited by Olórin: 5/22/2025 4:43:18 AMPeople were saying the Dungeon was ( and still saying) fantastic before, the only thing that made it really horrible to replay was the tedious (and quite frankly odd) choices the devs decided to put the players through. 4 waves on the opening encounter reduced to 3. Shields were heavily reduced on the Bosses. Chest present in between the journey leading up to the first Boss. The lack of challenging changes to this Dungeon really shows that it really is a solid all-rounded experience both challenging, and now, very rewarding. All of these adjustments make the Dungeon's current reception how it should've been received when it first released.

4 RepliesIn my opinion it's not a bad dungeon it's just the unnecessarily long diving part... 🤷
-
Got my all gold ultimatum clear and really enjoyed the challenge but it is brutal hard. Had to hard crutch triple no hesitations for the final boss just because it forces you to run constantly to do the mechanics so you cant really play good positions and just have to have the survivability to out heal everything, and it was still hard. Honestly think it is perfectly tuned for the sandbox right now. You have to come with the meta builds or you have no chance. Definitely harder than spire imo The diving part is definitely too long but if you look past it this was a good challenge for those who seek it
-
the explore mode is a mode with baby mobs, and baby boss with tutorial on mechanics . they made some really good changes for the dungeon, the section between the first and the second step is still too long
-
32 RepliesI just went in blind for the first time on the matchmade without ever even looking it up on video. The last boss is still a mystery to me. I tried every combination of actions I could think at the moment and still no clue how to progress it. Luckily after an hour someone figured it out. And why are the "tips" in the middle of enemies shooting? Pretty hard to read. And the diving sections suck and in the first one the "tips" are to walk in the f'n wall. It shouldn't be the case that you gotta look up every damn thing online before going in.
-
4 RepliesI just want to know, where are the hints in Explorer mode? I thought that was the whole point of it - to not have to sit through 30 minutes of YT. So it's just nerfed enemies now? Had I not looked it up in the past i would have never known.
