this is the worst game mode I can think of, nothing about it was fun, I hated it from the first game, bought the sparrow and dipped, absolute waste of dev time, trash mode, -blam!- in every way
-
2 RepliesIt's so -blam!- the brigs cannot compete against the tanks you literally cannot hit the tanks unless you pre fire like that's not how aiming should work I should shoot when my reticle is on the tank not before it's moved it's -blam!-

Edited by DieselBaddAss: 5/13/2025 4:12:43 AMI report a couple of players. No way they were making their shots on target in Heavy Metal. This is just a bandaid for Destiny 2 going down like the Celtics on tonight's game. Such a shame Bungie desperate trying to keep us entertain until next DLC. Update: I bought Silver to get to rank 15.
-
2 RepliesOkay, chill dude. 90’s games were much better than Heavy Metal.
-
Are they play testing a possible Marathon mode?
-
They should have taken a few pointers from Titanfall, it has potential, but needs better physics. You should not be able to walk faster than a projectile being launched. The vehicles could stand to be tweeked too.
-
The movement for the vehicles actually suck so bad the camera tracking just doesn’t even work half of the time
-
It’s a complete joke! The mouse players can turn very fast compared to controller on max sensitivity. Controller players are getting screwed. FU bungie and your BS balance
-
5 RepliesIt's an Atari game with just better graphics. I hit dead on and no damage is done sometimes.
-
Topic body
This game mode is pure garbage
-
I feel you. Played one match. ONE! No way I'll play that again. And btw... 90's games were way better than this.
-
"We hear you so we are nerfing hand cannons" -Bungie probably
-
2 RepliesCan’t expect much until marathon fails so destiny can have its devs back
-
1 ReplyAt least when you bought a video game in the 90’s you got the whole finished game, none of this half finished bs that modern gaming has turned into.
-
7 RepliesThat's an insult to early 90's video games.
-
Bro I thought heavy metal was good I’ve been grinding it all weekend best activity ever
-
I thought you could only dodge with the brigs 😂felt stupid when I found out with the tanks. 😭
-
First increase your sensitivity to max, in settings, for console, there is a bug. Second, yeah, they could increase the movement speed of both machines with at least 30 %.
-
Topic body
Absolutely! They can put it where the sun doesn’t shine! Just play my last, terrible game play.
-
I was going to post feedback, but this is better and more concise than whatever I was going to write.
-
1 ReplyAbsolutely trash. The worst cheating I have ever seen. Even worse than when trials hit PC day 1.
-
11 Repliespurposefully so we just pay the silver to buy sparrow, thats what Im doing
-
okay? but 90s games were fantastic. Ghost in the Shell psx was amazing.

4 RepliesEdited by DcellDave: 5/11/2025 12:45:07 PMWhoever came up with the idea that a tank hitting a brig in the legs would blow up the tank never drove a tracked vehicle. The tank is a slow moving brick; how do you hurt a brick? Tanks were a development from bulldozers - i.e., they are designed to push things without taking damage. The legs of a brig are it's weakest point; the legs are fragile compared to the rest of it. Since the tank turret turns so slowly, and the rockets themselves travel like molasses in January, a brig has the advantage of being able to casually walk away from the shot. What a joke.
-
Yep! Is the worst thing they've done by a long way! Is sooooo dull and boring . I'd love to know who play tested it and thought "yeah man, this is so awesome!"
-
There's a reason the industry abandoned look-direction-based vehicle controls for turreted vehicles; it makes the vehicles control like trash. The tanks especially get caught on tiny ridges because Bungo picked the single worst possible environment for this game mode. Both vehicles feel completely handicapped from campaign/NPC veriants. The daily challenges seem optimised to make you spend and buy reroll tokens (play games as one specifc side and kill the enemy leader spring furthest to mind); in fact the entire thing feels designed to maximise grind. I like that Bungie is trying new things, but this mode really brings into focus how far behind the industry they are in combat vehicle tech.
