One shotted, on most missions.

Hello all, brand new to Destiny 2 and am wondering about the questlines. I've been playing a few hours, and have made it through the tutorial on a titan. Seems like I've just gotten three or four dozen quests randomly, not sure what the storyline is for them or in what order I should be doing them. I could use some direction because I'm currently just getting one shotted by enemies (bosses for sure, but most anything that fires a projectile kills me if it hits me). I've been just taking whatever highest gear score on armor drops, since I've just started I didn't think I should be worrying about stat priority or anything like that. My overall tactic is just to hide, use a scout rifle that has no need for ammo pickups and firing at partially exposed enemies until they are dead. Even if I go back to the original starting zone to try and fight just adds or do public events, I'll get hammered if something hits me three (sometimes four) times. This quest called "Zero Hour" was in my list, and even the trash mobs are one shotting me, either I'm doing something terribly wrong here or there's a level minimum or something I'm not seeing and could sure use some guidance.

  • I would suggest paying close attention to the light level requirements of any activity. If it's higher than your character then it's probably something to avoid for the time being. There's combat difficulty ratings as well... 1 skull to 5 skulls (I think, might be 1-4), which will suggest how hard the activity will be. So things like zero hour will be 2 or 3 as it is harder than the basic missions... that is a tough one for new players; definitely recommend going back to that much later. My advice would be to take a look through guardian ranks, and look to get those done. That 'should' be the best marker for the route through the game. Can be found in the tab to the left of the character load out screen.
