I got banned for no reason and Bungie will not explain to me why despite 2 detailed appeals
This company is a joke for not giving me a reason why I got banned. I have been a loyal member of the Destiny community for years, and if you just throw around bans for no reason, then it's a joke of a company. If you have someone submit a ticket asking for more information about their ban, and then you just send back the same automated response, you're a joke of a company. Put an email or phone number I can contact. Your customer service is atrocious. I genuinely have no clue why I got banned, and your hardware and network troubleshooting recommendations are useless when I have no idea what you are banning me for. One of your recommendations is to make sure you have a wired connection. I HAVE A WIRED CONNECTION AT OVER 700MBPS, AND I AM BEING BANNED FOR CONNECTION ISSUES. If you expect me to sit here all content for 2 weeks after being completely innocent, then you're wrong. If I could escalate my complaint to someone in a higher position, I would do so, but this company doesn't provide that option. They just send out the same automated responses without reading any of the appeals. I've said it once, and I'll say it again, your customer service sucks I have played Destiny for over 10 years, and this is the worst experience I have ever had in any game when it comes to getting in contact with a human being to help me out. I have never been banned from any video game in my lifetime, and I have been playing for over 20 years. This is my favorite game, and getting banned for no reason pisses me off. And when I ask for more information, I'm met with the same soulless message. Fix your platform because this experience has degraded my respect for you as a company entirely. If this message gets met with the same automated response, it will just prove my point about how much you don't give a -blam!- about your players and their concerns.

Almost the exact same thing happened to me, almost the exact same time. I played the game (d1 and d2) for more than 7k hours combined for over 7 years. Fair to say, it was my fav game for some reason.. but the company behind it really sucks.. I just like you have no idea what caused the ban. The funniest thing is, that they want you to "appeal" and "prove them wrong", but since you don't get any feedback, what could have caused it, you can't really tell it. A lifetime ban should only be given to hard cheaters or like racist, anti semitist etc.. But everything falling in the same "lifetime ban without any warning" category is a joke. It's like i drive over the speedlimit by like 3 km/h and you get the same punishment as someone who under the influence of drugs and alcohol and cause a deadly accident.. Both "breach the rules" daah, but there should be like levels in terms of bans.. where for toxic behav you get a level 1 or 2 and for hard cheating a lifetime ban. but for like level 1 or 2 you can get a second chance.. if you fall back you get like a 2 years ban, and if you do it for the 3rd time boom, you are banned for life.. They have like 15-20k player count at peak times, and they literally punish the most loyal players.. I have seen many posts, cause after over 6 months i am still looking for answers...

1 ReplyI was banned dec 12 2023. I had cross play enabled for ps5 to PC. I barely played pc tbh for a few lans we did some trials and a raid. My son had parted out my pc parts at the time so my pc was down and i just mained on ps5. Just like you i played for 9/1/2 years would of been longer however ive been banned for 182k days, yes thats not a typo. Ive spent so much money on dlc/expansions/season passes/eververse had the white destiny ps4 edition , played same hunter since d1 and transferred to d2. My steam became compromised i had 2fa on but some how someone turned it off my guess my son cause of family sharing on steam. I was not aware anything was going on , just got a steam email in russian or some foreign language. That raised a red flag with me and i changed my steam pw and turned back on 2fa. It was too late and on dec 6 2023 i was banned. Appeals and appeals and just bs responses how they dont have to tell me why i banned. I have 3000 hours in both games combined. No matter my appeals and stuff i submit, i found out actually my steam had been compromised since oct 26 but i had no idea cause my pc was down and the email was buried in my spam full email. The Tos is a joke imo, 182k days? What the hell was even done to deserve a ban like that for that many days? 3 lifetimes really??? No warnings , no nothing. Spent thousands on your game, tshirts, mousepad, lore books. I didnt even get to play the end of the light and dark saga . The final shape i didnt even get to play. Ive never been banned in any game ever in my life, im 45 years old gamer husband and dad . We live in a day and age stuff gets hacked and compromised all the time. I will never buy another bungie product because of how this was handled and how i was screwed with no reason given, that is a cop out of an answer imo.
