Would you have to play as SGT johnson to fight Master Chief and disinfect him later? Try to change the storyline through Master Chief getting infected by the flood.

Big problems.

In the Halo Encyclopedia (not halo wiki) there is no mention of the word cyborg or any mechanical augmentations to the humans, on a side note the Halo Encyclopedia comes with a foreword by Frank O'Connor so hope I dont know if you would say that is good enough or not. I love how we pretty much changed the topic by trying to figure out if Master Chief is cyborg or not.

Master Chief is a cyborg. So it depends on how much of him is controlled by machine. Master Chief's brain, I guess, is mostly organic matter and not mostly machine. If his brain is mostly organic matter then it will potentially be taken over by a flood infection. If the Flood does indeed gain control of Master Chief's brain via infection he will no longer be under the command of the UNSC.
He's human..
Sorry, but I'm kind of leaning towards Master Chief being a cyborg: http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/SPARTAN-II_Program
Don't be silly. He is human. A cyborg would have mechanical components working internally alongisde organic components. The only metal in Chief's body is the coating on his bones and the Mjolnir suit he wears - both of which do not make him a cyborg. A terminator is a cyborg, data from Star Trek is a cyborg. MC is not a cyborg. Let that be the end of this nonesense
At Halopedia this was written as the definition of the Spartan-II Program: "The SPARTAN-II Program, originally known as the ORION Project Generation II, was part of the SPARTAN Program, an effort to produce elite soldiers through mechanical and biological augmentation. The SPARTAN-II program would be the first in the series to meld advanced exoskeleton technology with the soldiers' superior physiques." It seems that it is indefinite as to whether Spartans are part machine or just flesh and bone. But I maybe wrong. The only people who probably know for sure are those who work at Bungie. BTW he is no cyborg, he is human and the only reason you can think he is one is because, he has a neural interface that let's him put Cortana "In his head".
Master Chief is not a cyborg This is a list of the augmentations in the entire spartan II program: Grafting of ceramics onto skeletal structure to make bone nearly unbreakable, muscular enhancement, accelerated growth spurts, catalyic thyroid implants, occipital capillary reversal, and superconducting fabrication of neural dindrites to increase reflexes by over 300%. Next on the agenda upgrades to the MJOLNIR armor: The Mark V armor which the cheif wore in Halo: CE consisted of these upgrades: A larger fusion reactor which allowed for shields the second being the size and cabability of housing an entire "smart" AI constuct meaning the user could directly combine reflexes with the AI which had almost complete control of mathematics, information, and body control. Notice that the AI uplink is in the suit. That means Master Chief is not a cyborg. To answer the original question of the topic Cortana would probably overload his shielding sending an electric shock throughout the system, if it was already too late then she would likely trigger the suit's overload sequence which burns all evidence of the armor and its user. For sources of the above info see the Halo Encyclopedia (not halo wiki), Halo:The Flood (novel), or Halo:First Strike (novel) [Edited on 11.17.2010 2:23 PM PST]

If Master Chief were to be infected, then he would be severely weakened. Have you ever noticed that it can take several shot gun shells to take down a normal marine and it only take one or two shots to kill and infected one?

Lol...
Posted by: statickiller Thats impossible chuck norris cant be flood
Thank You. It is obvious that Master Chief is Chuck Norris. How else could he do all the things he does without being Chuck Norris.
Posted by: FailureAtLife001 that would be one bad-ass flood.... plus we would be doomed
Nah Cortana would probably set his suit to auto self destruct, to kill him and the flood.
Posted by: Nightkrawler 96 Does the flood gain his intelligence? If not, then it won't matter. The spore that took over him would still be another mindless organism, just with better armor. The humans would kill him easily.
Master Chief's Super Steroids+Natural Super Steroids in the Flood = Devastating to the humans. Gravemind takes in all of the intelligence from the victims that the flood kills and he controls them, right? So, therefore, he would gain Master Chief's intelligence.
