Lodestar Catalyst is quite useless in pve imo
Does anybody else think that the Lodestar catalyst is useless in PVE? The calalyst description is " While amplified, it gains greatly increased reload speed, aim assist, and movement while aiming down sights."
I would expect something like "While amplified, this weapon's battery charges faster" or "While amplified, kill any jolted target gains bolt charge" or sth at least good for pve...

4 RepliesWow. That IS useless. The literal only saving grace for this weapon is that its primary ammo. Its exotic trait is even something that exists on legendary weapons, except you have to build a charge to hold X, then hipfire to do it. Its actually worse than a legendary in these regards. Why, just the other day I got a Trace drop from GG that doesn't require charging, holding X, nor hip firing, while doing exactly the same thing that exotic does, except better because its not limited to "a short time". It just does it.

Catalyst is useless since it's for aiming down sights on a hip firing weapon. This is intentional as they don't want it to be OP. But you can select your reload button when arc alignment is full and get more appearance of arc damage, fun to use but not for high end content.

3 RepliesIt could be something like 1. Killing a jolted target reloads the magazine 2. You know when the little bar fully charges? It could be like kills with that magazine blind targets not just jolt Or 3. Sustained fire grants bolt charge

Even for a PvP Catalyst, the benefits are pretty bad. The reload speed is almost unnoticeable, by the standards of "greatly increased". It already has 90 Aim Assist, so any Targeting mods already cover that boost. It'd be a bit of a cop-out but even Eddy Current would have been a much better addition. The weapon is great at base so I can see why they wouldn't want to go overboard with the Catalyst but this one might as well do nothing.

I think they wanted a sort of hybrid good on pve and pvp. 🤔 Used it a few times then to the vault it went.

Should be killing jolted enemies extends the duration or converts the ADS burst fire into the actual fire mode for trace rifles with the former's damage. Way I see it for PvE, it would basically just become a trace rifle version of Tarrabah but needs kills against debuffed targets to extend the duration. As for PVP, the buff would run out about as quickly as Ravenous Beast anyway. The only real disadvantages Tarrabah would have in this comparison are the ones that come with using an SMG and how you're basically not allowed to switch.

Arc conductor needs to either proc faster OR have it last longer.

It should increase the mag size as well and maybe add something fun like Dragon fly or chain reaction.
