Even excluding the artifact, titans in PvE are way more well off than the other two classes (especially hunters).
Lets look at day one data:
For vespers host hunters only took up ~7% of all players who cleared. Titans were ~37%. Due to the encounter being very survivability heavy hunters served little to no purpose other than objectively worse/harder/intensive DPS. It’s not really shocking that warlock is so high.
For sundered doctrine hunters only took up ~11% of all players who cleared. Given Storms Keep and outrageous thundercrash damage I think this is pretty obvious why titans were outperforming hunters.
Hunters currently have no identity in end game other than to be a Rez bot or ability spam that is just worse than what a titan or warlock can do. They need work across the board to bring some use in team environments. Not to mention that Hunter has consistently been the weakest class to solo things on for a while, Datto even made a video talking about how you should just flat out switch classes for vespers solo flawless.
Warlock is currently too support heavy and are only really brought in for extremely difficult content or raid dps scenarios. They have fantastic dps with sanguine, but for other endgame content like GMs or solo dungeons it can get pretty hectic for warlocks as they don’t have a lot of “instant lethality”. I feel like a good fix to this would be to buff some of their melees, a lot of them feel pretty weak.

11 RepliesTitans get boring to play after a while. I like the shooting part of FPS. With titans it’s nonstop ability spam, it gets old. People asking for titan runs in GMs are just boring people in general, or they are always in a hurry. Hunter and Warlock are fine imo, Titans are just too op with certain builds.

4 RepliesSorry, this is a Hate Hunter Love Titan forum. I suggest you put the cloak in the burn pile and go pick up your box of crayons.

1 ReplyEdited by AbsolutZeroGI: 3/9/2025 4:30:17 AMVespers Host was bugged and that's why Hunters didn't finish it at the numbers of other classes. That's an outlier result and should never be factored into long term buffs or nerfs. They were approximately 75% of the day 1 clears for Salvations Edge, which came out just a few months prior. They are the kings of PvP. They are the kings of burst DPS, especially at a distance, and they're the kings of whining about only being able to do 75% of the game better than everyone else. Shut up.

I have honestly played as a hunter main since D1 beta days, and having a titan only as a cp slave and a warlock as extra vault space. That being said I have always, ALWAYS felt weaker than the other two classes. While that's true, I still adapt. Before the final shape dropped I was either maining a solar/heal grenade build, or my stasis/trace rifle super spam build. After the final shape, I swapped to my void build and have been running it in all my GMs. I'm a hunter, I'm stalking enemies in the shadows. I kill, go invis, recoup, kill, go invis, recoup. I lay down traps and weaken mobs. My graviton combo wipes adds, and smacks bosses well enough for the special or heavy to pick up the slack. While I understand this play style isn't for everyone, it is absolutely a Hunter. We are not designed to be tanks or healers. Besides GM level content, you can use almost any hunter build in just about anything in the game. Especially with the arc changes made recently. I have a bad habit of comparing changes and such made to my class and gear to only GMs as that's my main squeeze from the game. I LOVE GMs, but just because you can't fly through a GM like a tank crayon eating bullet sponge doesn't mean you can't still do the mission and enjoy it. Take your time, hell even get a team of JUST hunters and see how much damage we can actually do. When I say 3 tethers are overkill, you have no freaking clue.

You can’t complain about class identity then demand Hunters be a jack of all trades. And soloing dungeons isn’t the baseline for class balance either.

1 ReplyEdited by WinterSolstice: 3/9/2025 9:16:30 PMStorm keep is an issue because of the artifact. Without it you get about 20K extra damage every 4-5 seconds which is decent but not really game breaking. Flashover is a massive boost to both damage and uptime since amplified doubles the speed you get bolt stacks but without flashover you don't really get amplified mid dps unless you have a Hunter to use their ability. Alongside that there's defibrillating blast which heals 80 hp per an activation + jolts targets (I tested it works on none champions) which adds a further like 12K damage. There's also the artifact that refunds a bit of class energy which people are using Echoes trace rifle to activate since every like 8 trace shots activates a volatile blast which grants about 10% energy meaning you essentially have infinite barricades. Edit: Also for the new dungeon there's 2 big advantages rn. 1. Bolt charge can activate on multiple enemies which means for the 2nd boss if you're using like anarchy that's like 3 bolt charge blasts + the bonus healing (Don't think they can be inflicted by jolt though as I don't see jolt activating on them like other bosses) 2nd is Tcrash hits two bosses at once doing double damage. This is pretty broken but it's not the only thing hitting multiple of the bosses.

3 RepliesThe sad thing is invisible hunter builds are clutch in GMs. I've saved so many runs because I could go invisible for 30+ seconds at a time, but all the lfg boards only want flavor of the month meta builds which are usually titans or warlocks.

1 Replydon't say that!! titans will come running and write bad words, soon G games and they have to win again!! just kidding!! but with the release of light fall titans became the strongest i'm not saying that it's bad, but the balance in this game is simply absent... bungo loves nerves so soon it will be even worse... remember in this game you can't have fun anymore

People gravitate towards the class and subclass that is the most “powerful” at the given time. Titans have got some new toys and are in a good spot but it doesn’t mean other class need a buff. You’re a good player and I’m assuming you could pick up any subclass and clear a GM right? As could I and most players who engage in endgame content, stop focusing so much on numbers/stats and just play the game. The only difficult content is soloing stuff and that isn’t really something to base power/balance on

3 RepliesEdited by TBONE: 3/7/2025 10:00:06 PMHow many Titans cleared contest SE? You are mixing up the artefact perks with aspects. On top of that you wan to muddy the waters on class identity. Bro thsi is a very bad take. However I do agree to buff the other classes lower picked aspects and abilities and adding additional ones to all the classes.

5 RepliesI just want Golden Gun to get a 20% buff to its damage against bosses. That would be enough to make it so that the base super actually feels useful on it’s own and also make Nighthawk feel competitive with Falling Stat T-Crash and Nova Bomb Star Eater Nova Bomb, with out surpassing them. Right now the super is basically useless on its own and is overly reliant on Nighthawk. Even with Nighthawk it deals less than a BASE Nova Bomb, and even if we add in radiant it just barely squeezes past BASE Twilight Arsenal. A 20% buff against bosses would be a big help to Golden Gun.

3 RepliesJust revert the well and starfire nerfs
-
Bungie will do what they do best. Take the easy way out and Nerf titans to the ground instead of buffing the other classes.
-
4 RepliesWelp, hunters have been the “go to” option for pve for way too long. Now that the spotlight is on another class hunters are crying. While titans have been on the dust for the majority of the time.
-
1 ReplyEasy now, titan class are the biggest crybabies in the game.
-
1 ReplyTitans are over tuned right now, they will be nerfed. I feel like warlocks aren’t in a bad spot. Prismatic warlock with electric slide + spirit of synthoceps is very good. Then healing turret for support. Hunters are -blam!- in endgame though. If you use hunter, you’re throwing.
-
13 RepliesWarlocks - bring on starfire protocol

4 RepliesEdited by o-_RunNGun_-o: 3/7/2025 7:31:01 PMBro, I’m out working every Titan with my Prismatic Warlock. Build crafting has become a lost art. Give this a try and you’ll start saying Warlocks need a nerf https://dim.gg/wcdufta/METALOCK https://mobalytics.gg/destiny-2/profile/889be24f-81a3-4492-8ffb-33c4de4e2696/builds/29e0ef78-1648-43a1-9cbe-fe33d9e6230f

Warlocks are in a solid place in pve great healing options and nin healing. I ran last week's gm with prismatic Rime coat it did great and solo flawless Nether with the same build. Devour works great to for a lot of content. Strand well I don't like strand and don't use it. Stasis is great aside from it needs a new super. Arc haven't used in ages gotta test it out more and build craft.

30 RepliesEdited by Althanash: 3/8/2025 1:21:32 PMOkay.........what do you really want for hunter at this point? Edit: I didn't read the part about Warlock.........Warlocks have a lot of add / boss dmg capability. They're just usually relegated to being the Well of Radiance crutch for the rest of the party.

2 RepliesMy hunter does fine in GMs and Dungeons. Sure, i'll gladly take buffs lol, but to act like these other classes are so inferior is a miss. Maybe people need to stop thinking they need the tier-1, ultrasweat, can't lose, datto-approved build from the YT video they watched 10 seconds of. If anything this is just a community self-report. People can't engage unless they go in knowing they're OP. And honestly, this points to Titan nerfs more than lock/hunter buffs IMO.
-
Titans had it bad during FS and the first episode. I say let them shine this episode. I’m a Warlock main and I have no issues with them being a little broken atm.
-
The best bungie ever does for warlock is give them a turret or give some exotic and or ability the 30 buff and it still sucks!
-
As a hunter main, I'll be honest, it's my least played class this season. Arc titans and arc warlocks are to good. Titans put out crazy damage and warlocks can spam chaos reach. Hunters can't even get ascension to work with any class ability mods sooooo...
-
That's not how this works. Bungie is apparently terrified of power creep and the game becoming easier, so I expect titan nerfs. On and ward of dawn to get hit again, just because.
