The class gets the least interesting abilities and exotic armor designs are so bad they feel like spite toward the playerbase (Swarmers, Cenotaph, Stormbracer) and the gameplay loop with the class just doesn't change.
It's sad that when arc changes were announced coming with Heresy, I knew right away what the support would be. A turret. Of course. Another turret. Can the team muster ANYTHING creative for the class?
And what did we get last season? A crackhouse for bleak watcher. Before that? TFS launched with...A healing turret. And the aspect? A fire turret.
I already know what's coming to fix the Broodweaver issue too...A floating strand egg that spits out threadlings, gives Woven mail while close and ties your shoes for you!
Can we not? This is not what Warlocks are known for during the early days of Destiny and definitely not what they are known for in lore. The class needs to move on from spamming turrets as the best strategy.

Pretty sure they have zero creativity full stop.

3 RepliesEdited by The Hermit IX: 3/6/2025 7:29:43 PMI main a Warlock. Warlocks are absurdly powerful and have the most versatility in PVE. We have quick ability up time on builds. Song of Flame, Well and Nova Bomb are also powerful supers. PVP not so much. They lack the ability spam and exotics to support it that the other classes enjoy. They need to bring back eating your grenade for Devour as an intrinsic part of Devour. It’s ridiculous that a Titan can proc Devour more easily than a Warlock. They also need to tie Radiant to a Warlock class ability. Hunters can simply dodge and gain radiant so Warlocks should get it from casting a rift. Those changes would go a long way in PVP.

2 RepliesIn defense of the Ionic Sentry: it's actually pretty good for most activities. Overall though your opinion is valid.
-
8 RepliesJust give 'em a throwing weapon, like the mini hammer. Maybe when it's sitting, it pulses a buff for you and your teammates until it pops, and the more pulses it does, the less energy you get back?
-
1 ReplyThe same things you’re complaining about are the same things that make warlock cracked lol. Are you playing correctly?

It's better than the Hunters new Arc ability, nothing -
I think overall their innovation on abilities is kinda just gone.

1 ReplySee you would think it's just warlocks, but then they just keep throwing invisible stuff on hunters, which was nice the first couple times, but no so much now. They're just running out of juice, period.
-
This is just what Bungie does. They get one thing about a class right that makes them feel unique, then they just Xerox that same design over and over, stripping that feeling away and making it feel bland and uninspired.
-
2 RepliesIdk man. This new arc aspect and geomags build is pretty legit.
-
3 RepliesPerhaps we could interest you in void hunter aspect #4. Do x thing and get invis. True innovation
-
6 RepliesWouldn't be surprised if they gave us a void turret for the next line of aspects, whole thing is a disappointing mess. I kinda would like to see things similar to weavewalk

Objectively at launch of the franchise all the classes were very role based and overtime due to feedback from community they have predominately become 1 size fits all from a Macro level. In D1 Y1 almost no one mained a hunter in PvE because their kits were almost useless comparitively and the highest you could get your Resilience was 3. They were kitted to excel in crucible before elim was a game mode. Taken king came and tether was inserted into the game to start to push that needle more towards the middle. Fast forward to today and the 3 classes have never been so close in terms of what they can do and be used for from an aggresive stand point. Obviously tether and well and now lighting barricade set them apart from a support function but for everything else they are inter changeable. I personnally dislike the one size fits all mantra but for the most part thats what the community wanted.

Stormdancers brace is good af. Triple 100s on prismatic leaning into 100 intellect because devour gives me grenade energy. Super after super.

2 RepliesI think if you look at classes the Vanguard Characters/Vendor characters fall into, you'll get an idea of where their focus lies: Titan Saint-14 Saladin Shaxx Sloane Zavala Hunter Ana Bray Crow Cayde-6 Drifter Elsie Bray Eris Morn Shaw Han Warlock Ikora Rey Osiris That pretty much represents the spread when it comes to the attention the classes and subclasses receive.

Yeah, I always hated that Bungie has decided to relegate Warlock to being the "boring passive shoulder turret" class. Where's the space magic? The spellslinging? Where are the cool flashy abilities that actually allow for skill expression, instead of another AI buddy that plays the game for you?
-
I've always said give warlocks in pvp more movement. So void can get the nova warp teleport in a directional movement for the same cooldown as icarus, arc can get the ionic blink from stormtrance in the same fashion. Stasis and strand could use more supers and love, i haven't thought about what those two could get for movement These movement abilities can also be brought to Prismatic Pve, i wanna see a lot more explosions from warlock abilities. I used to main warlock hard until the abilities just felt same old
well of radiance before nerf
I've been on hunter since but it would make me definitely go back to floaty space magic if our abilities just did more chaos on warlock

2 RepliesStop crying. Warlock is and always have been the most powerful option.
-
As a warlock main I 100% agree. Warlock is extremely powerful, but overall has gotten extremely boring with how repetitive it has gotten. So many turret spam builds, and bungie is just continuing that trend.

2 RepliesEdited by Wicksypoo87: 3/4/2025 10:03:12 PMThe problem with warlock is they gave our unique class stuff away. While we got nothing in return. The other classes got our grenades, our healing, and our devour. But we basically have no access to the better parts of the other classes. I think that's when warlock went downhill. It's still very strong Don't get me wrong. Just nothing special yknow?

Personally I haven't had any issues with the turrets. Yes it lacks creativity but the thing I really want changed is the Warlock's class ability. A Warlock's rift doesn't feel fast and fluid enough in the current sandbox. I also don't enjoy the reduced functionality of the rift itself. For example a Titan's Barricade has multiple functions. Towering Barricade for example not only blocks damage in various ways it also taunts enemies and distorts them if they walk through it. It also lasts pretty long. A warlock's healing rift only provides minimal health overtime or an overshield but both of these things don't do much to prevent death. You also can't use the rift to support your allies because it only lasts 15 seconds and nobody wants to stay still while in a rift. A Hunter's dodge is similar. You can evade damage, regain melee energy or reload your weapons but it also disables tracking and and aim assist on top of being fast and fluid and therefore fits perfectly into the sandbox. Warlocks need something like a pulse instead of a rift. For example a healing pulse that you emit in a AOE and stays active while on the move. This way you can don't have to be stationary and it allows you to support your allies by staying close to them instead of hoping they can stand still for a few seconds in a rift.

It’s all new people , most of the old team have gone . Bungie are just pushing D2 along to get as much profit .

I like swarms exotic grieves and am currently using them with a build to synergize with artifact mods to create more threading from unraveled targets. I gotta see a threading tier while be insane lol 😂
-
Other than turrets and wells, what else? I'll give you one
Summons!
Warlocks exist to plants wells. Hunters exist to go invis. Titans exist to punch. This is the way of the Destiny, deviate at your own peril!
