Customers don't care if it's difficult or Bungie has to rebuild vaulted/removed content. That's a "you" problem. Handle it.

23 RepliesPeople telling others to "get over it" need to get some self respect or something. Bungie stole content a lot of you paid for from you. Destiny 2 is Free to Play NOW, but at launch it was a game you PAID FOR and was 100% NOT a free to play game. You can no longer play the literal campaign you paid for (not even mentioning the first couple DLCs). Yes, it was always live service and required internet to play, but the base game being gone for this long is not great. Restoring it can be done. It will just require effort, time, and for the higher ups at Bungie to actually give a crap and maybe for Pete to cool it on his classic car purchases for a few months.
Customers don't care if it's difficult or Bungie has to rebuild vaulted/removed content. That's a "you" problem. Handle it.
Huh? Handle what? What's the "you" Problem? Ignorance of what the customer purchased? Yes, that is a you problem.
-
I’d rather have new stuff instead of old stuff that would never/barely ever get played.
-
If by "You" problem it means yours, spot-on.
-
Handle it.
It was handled years ago when they put it in the DCV.
-
In this case they need to just add the dlc to the game for new light players, without the stories and campaigns you're basically paying 30-40 dollars for a couple of strikes per dlc and maybe a raid or dungeon or both.
-
13 RepliesBecause resources are finate; i'd rather them work on new stuff....

THANK YOU!! so tired of sycophants defending this bs

Having all content since launch would just extend dev time for ALL content. Having to go back, code, and check all available content via compatibility is literally the hardest and longest part of developing. Meaning we would have one season and one dlc drop every year if we were lucky while the game would cost three times as much to maintain… equaling in a higher price on us for less content. Ie it would be “our problem” financially. I am not defending the approach… But no other game really does what destiny does and for good reason. The cost is too much. Bungie made a call to streamline development for faster content drops. This means dropping old content. Regardless of what we think about the content, it is still content and still needs developed. The average game takes 5-7 years to develop… We are getting content at least 4 times a year. Want long droughts? Then they could bring it back. But the sensitive player base of today would riot.

Edited by BIGJOE275: 2/28/2025 4:35:24 PMThat's ok cause I'm NEVER buying a Bungie product or DLC after Heresy. Then a couple years down the road I'll get my money worth when Sony shuts the studio down for good. Then I'll "get over it"
-
5 RepliesLet’s be honest. They deleted the game files once it was “vaulted”. So there’s really no way of getting it back unless they completely re-make it.
-
7 RepliesIt's been 4 years. It's not coming back Get over it
-
lol still can’t believe Bungie did that ….removed content we had all paid for 🙄😂
-
1 ReplyIt boggles my mind that people are actually arguing in favor of Bungie here. How? This is content that we paid for and Bungie themselves said would eventually rotate back into the game. This would be like if your friend borrowed something you paid money for, and then when you go to ask them for it back they tell you they don't have it anymore.
-
2 RepliesExactly! Bungie can make all the excuses about things being difficult to make but as a paying costumer I shouldn't care especially when I pay 100+ euros per year for removable content and 80% of all cosmetics in the store and probably half of them being silver only.

3 RepliesEdited by xbroggiex: 2/26/2025 1:45:46 PMIts the biggest problem as to why Bungie can't retain new players. The missing expansions giving some much needed context to the world and also giving a more definitive starting point is going to stop any new players from really engaging. Temporary seasons was the second biggest mistake Bungie made, not that seasonal activities themselves being temporary is an issue moreso that seasons had a lot of narrative that were between expansions that gave a lot of context and are now missing. During Arrivals Destiny could not have been in a better spot for new players with a wealth of free Y1/Y2 content to engage with and with Beyond Light removing that content it killed any momentum Bungie built with that since the overall package of Destiny shrinked significantly to a point that there was literally zero content to do for new players outside of Cosmodrome, they didn't even have a F2P raid during Hunt and Chosen and Prophecy was gone for a good couple of months. Bungie is just reaping what they sowed basically with lack of new players flooding in and existing players getting frustrated and taking long breaks it means less players in playlists and less revenue rolling in because there is basically sweet FA in terms of new players willing to put cash into Destiny when the initial introduction offering is so anemic and bad.

6 RepliesHere's some advice from a d2 vet ,bungie will never change ,this is a recycle simulator that cost the player to get recycled content back, best approach anyone can take to this is to press the UNINSTALL BUTTON so more company's don't use bungies recycling method in future releases . You want to know how bad things are with bungie just know that a while ago some of the devs/ex devs got caught doing payed carrys essentially double dipping for profit

2 RepliesThe unfortunate reality. Pay for content and it gets removed at a whim. Would love to have access to all previous season game modes, loot, titles, and campaigns, raids, lairs, etc. Would be amazing to catch up on those missed times. Never will happen so just accepted it. Don’t agree with paying for things I’ll never get back but I guess it’s the work of live service games. Sucks bro what can you do other than not play. Personally took over a year off because was tired of it.
-
2 Repliesthis feels like a “he or she will take this to there grave” type of moment because if they can’t access it, it either means luke did this or some how one of those devs had a skeleton key to actually access that content and never even gave the company any rules or instructions on how to access it 😭
-
3 RepliesI actually played the red war and I’m looking forward to NEW content not old stuff. Not everyone has the same take tho.
-
4 RepliesRumours are saying it cannot be brought back into the game or even be rebooted intentionally to avoid a plagiarism lawsuit, which might actually backfire and be seen as avoiding prosecution by deception. At this point, the spaghetti code is already starting to break down. We need D3, or a fully rebuilt D2.
-
18 RepliesAlmost like players should have said something when Bungie revealed the DCV instead of seal clapping for it. If only there were people who said it would bite us in the end. Lo and behold
-
1 ReplySome of that content is the subject of a court case, they won't touch it. There were rumours back when it got vaulted about copyright issues. Looks like it might be more than rumour. Whatever the case Bungies team claim theres no workable version in thier possession. Possibly to avoid scrutiny in discovery. tldr content isn't vaulted its gone.
-
21 RepliesThe games engine needs to be improved for old content to come back. A new engine will only come with a destiny 3
-
They won't unless they re sell it and it doesn't affect current development and costs very little
