Just to post another feedback comment again to my post. I'm just wondering if anyone can help me find the right YouTube video since I last played and maybe I can watch what I've missed which will be helpful for when I come back to play or does anyone have any other suggestions thanks. :)

spend at least 20 min picking the right shader, after that just play

4 RepliesClick the timeline in the top right corner of the director & follow it. Or you can do BL, Lightfall, & TFS campaigns first to unlock all the subclasses.

2 RepliesI agree with most of the other posts. Play at your pace. Play what you enjoy with whatever builds you like. When you get to activities where loadout matters, I'm sure you'll have re-familiarized yourself with all of the weapons. The only thing I'd add is that if you don't have stasis already, finish the Beyond Light campaign ( now free, I think?) before you get Prismatic from Final Shape if you buy it. There's a bug currently where if you get prismatic first, you can't complete stasis. I don't know if this is also true for strand or not. Welcome back and have fun!

Since you haven’t played in a while, here’s my suggestions for whatever it’s worth. 1. Depending on the time you have to play, I would suggest just picking one character/ class and play as that. 2. If you want all abilities unlocked, and to understand the story in order. Beyond Light = Stasis Witch Queen = You’ll unlock weapon crafting. Since you’re fairly far behind, it will mostly be good for the newer exotic weapons that are craft-able. LightFall = Strand Final Shape = Prismatic Armor: Next expansion (Frontiers) will update armor and how abilities work within it. So you might not want to upgrade your armor too much. Maybe invest in one or two sets to equip so you can play content. However it’s really a big change coming. There’s some decent articles posted on their site that talk about and probably worth a read.

Play The Final Shape campaign before anything as the current Echo stuff won't make sense to you. After you beat the campaign, do yourself a big favor and Get the Khvostov 7G-0X from the Pale Heart (best Auto Rifle in the game and strong in all content.) You might have to use guides to track down the collectibles and encounters to get it but it's 100% worth it. After that, jump into the Episode Heresy missions and the Nether activity, which you can play at your own pace and get some of the strongest build centered legendary weapons in the game from and just enjoy the atmosphere and cool secrets to find. I envy you bc I wish I could delete TFS campaign from my memory to experience everything all over again 🥲

Don’t worry too much about missing out on Meta stuff. Bungie keeps adding meta-viable loot to easy activities so it’s not anything crazy. Just play the game at your pace, buy the latest expansion when you feel up to it, and don’t stress about PvP or endgame PvE at all. Play some strikes, test out some exotics you used to enjoy, try gambit lol. And then when you feel like you’re getting your value, consider more of the paid content. Also, don’t come on here too often. This place is filled with people who just love to hate on the game nowadays. Every so often is fine, but not all the time :)

Yes for sure. I’d try and get the campaigns as they are generally good content and the dungeon passes. Just play what you want and you’ll make progress.
-
I’d watch a couple of recent build videos, just to get a feel of what’s working at the moment. The meta shift constantly and the game get tweaked regularly, since you’ll probably be chasing some gear to catch up, might as well focus on what is strong. Even to play casually it’s a lot more fun with a build that slaps.

Edited by Salty-47: 2/23/2025 8:28:57 PMIt's not hard to get back into the game. Obviously, I'd say look into any dlc or the current season to see if it's anything you want to buy. Then, if you're just trying to get back up to power quickly doing any missed campaigns, if you buy the dlc, will help. If you're truly wanting to get back into the game, I'd recommend actively avoiding all the doom and gloom posts on here and look into things yourself before making a decision on anything.

Just try to complete something every time you log on, or you'll feel overwhelmed as the game throws things at you. Unlock strand by doing lightfall, unlock prismatic by doing final shape, don't worry about power level yet, let it happen naturally. Vex incursions are the best way to get missing exotics, there's a twitter bot called @vexassistant I think, & a discord bot called vex network (Google it for an invitation), both ping you around 5 mins before it starts, it's a random public event, kill 6 minotaurs to get an exotic you don't have (armour) will drop everything other than the 5-6 final shape ones. Do those passively. Then it's upto you what you prioritise, unlock trials, do seasonal content, use fire team finder for things you need to group up for (you may wait a while but people are still playing the stuff most are done with). Do post campaign exotic quests & stuff. Lots to do, just enjoy the time sink & don't be afraid to YouTube things you don't know, or ask here. Welcome back 👍
