Hello,
I do not exactly remember since when, but I don't even remember having these status messages in chat. For example when you are using join command /join guardian#1234 I do not see the timeout when I over use it. I did not think it is an issue but then I played on my GFs accound and I saw all these messages that people join voice chats, join command timeouts, welcome to destiny 2 when she logs in etc.
I am looking everywhere for the settings to be toggled on, I tried every option possible, even went to bungie net if the settings isnt hidden somewhere here but I found nothing. I just cannot enable it.
How do you change this setting?

Sorry for reviving this thread but just wanted to add my two cents to this. First of all, not a game breaking issue by any means but I've been experiencing this for years at this point. Maybe it worked fine (with the "Welcome to Destiny 2" and the /help command) during the first couple of months after the chat introduction but after that it just stopped working. This was during the Battle.net days. I only realized that seeing people join the channel in chat was still a thing after watching footage of someone else playing. Using other commands like /join work just fine. I wanna say I've reinstalled the game at least a couple of time since then and it didn't fix it. I've also toggled on and off the new settings that shows you when someone has come online but it doesn't do anything for me. In general this seems to be a niche issue, but if the chat ends up getting more features in the future it might be worth to take a look at. Thank you!
