As the title says and as the footage shows. Before a Bungie bot tries to explain healing orbs to me, I completed dozens of Nether runs prior to the February 13 update and healing orbs ALWAYS healed for a noticeable chunk of health. Since the update, they occasionally do nothing at all, for several orbs in a row. This is clearly not how healing orbs are meant to work and this ought to be a top priority bug.

I would agree... I have the overshield mod set as well, so it's very obvious when it works and when it doesn't. That said, runs are generally a lot quicker since the update... perhaps people are just exploring less, but a half hour run of advanced is now taking 15 mins!

Did you maybe have the node selected that makes healing orbs more effective( last one in the line on the right) and switch it off ? That node makes a considerable difference in the amount healed. Just a thought.

3 RepliesThere has been a nasty bug reported that takes effect after being in an activity for a period of time. A memory leak type bug where visuals, abilities, even hit registration all begin to degrade. This could possibly explain stuff like pots not dropping orbs in Expert Nether where more time is needed to complete. Not saying it's the cause of all the issues here but something to bear in mind if you are in an activity for a while. Destiny has had major wobbles in the core code over the years, maybe we are building up to another.

I had that problem before the update and now after the update everything seems to be working just fine. I never complained. I simply adapted and overcame. Focus on your method of clearing areas. You will adapt and you will overcome.

I get some people may actually like this, but having so many things in a kit be useless just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I was excited to come back after skipping the last 9 months to explore a favorite D1 destination. After seeing this I haven’t played it. Just been running nightfalls to try and get the final warning catalyst. I am about to reset Vanguard for the second time and still no catalyst. lol, can’t win.

I made this same post last week and got attacked by the get gud trolls, but the funny part most of people that commented didn't even play it or they were such trash themselves. The activity would be some much for fun if it had ever so slightly some type of healing . It's just a slog ...

Healing anything don’t work in nether

Yeah, I noticed this post-update as well. Most of my healing was coming through the orbs and it is way less consistent now. Seems like there's some kind of cooldown to it If you're relying on these borked orbs, the better Healing Orbs is a requirement Incoming damage also feels higher post-update. Like, 3x Health with Woven Mail probably shouldn't break off in huge chunks
-
I noticed it too while farming for Adepts last night. At this point, I feel Bungie should just use Attrition in the Nether until they get the Healing Mechanic working properly. It's been broken since day one

1 Replyjust another annoying game change that players never asked for. I'm not sure why bungie does this stuff maybe testing things for other games . but if this becomes standard it won't be destiny anymore.
-
I had the exact same experience after the update. I bailed and haven't been back into Nether.

1 ReplyYup. Almost feels like they've added a cooldown on them.

Edited by STARKILLER2258: 2/18/2025 1:37:07 AMYeah noticed that last night. I was heading for a flawless advanced run, and at the last boss, the meatball, I just could not find a pot with any healing orbs. They kept coming up empty. I eventually got taken out by one of his death balls that like to track you around corners while running around to find a single pot worth a sh*t. Earlier in the run I noticed I was getting no over shield or health from a lot of the pots.

Noticed this on expert last night. Definitely a thing.
