Destiny 2 Freezing after 5-ish hours of play on Steam
PLATFORM: Steam
SYSTEM INFO:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8 Core Processor
GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090
RAM: 64GB DDR5 6000MHz

ISSUE: After the game has been open for at least 5 hours, it freezes, requiring the task manager to close it in order to fix the issue.
REPRO STEPS: I don't know, play Destiny with similar specs to mine for at least 5 hours? I have heard of others having this issue, with no solution. I have had this issue longer than I have had any of the listed specs, I will say.
ACTUAL RESULT: Game freezes/crashes
EXPECTED RESULT: Game works for as long as I wish to play

Update - What fixed for me was clearing Steam's download cache from its settings and haven't had a crash since then.

the longest i’ve had the game running is 8.6 hours debug mode selected in nvidia control panel high performance selected for d2 under graphics settings > advanced running d2 with high priority in task manager details tab disable full screen optimization for d2

You can see also on twitch streams a lot of streamers got this issue aswell. The only thing in common is the RTX 4000 series Issue it is already 2 years old It will crash between 5:00-5:30 hours gameplay, 8 times out of 10, and very rare it will let you paly a bit longer untill will crash exact same way

I have the exact same issue, sometimes its longer than 5 hours before it happens but will almost always happen since episode heresy has came out. My specs are a bit different but are: PLATFORM: Steam SYSTEM INFO: CPU: Intel i7-13700k GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070ti SUPER RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000MHz

Same on console. I'm on Series X and it will freeze, frame drop, or crash out. Especially on Nether or any fireteam activity
